Simulations to determine which attributes win games Posted: 17 May 2021 10:59 AM PDT Hi football managers of Reddit! I've spent some time on creating an experiment setup where I can determine how important different attributes are in the ME. The original idea was similar to "attribute league" described in a Zealand video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOE-lilOMVk), but I wanted to: a) Exclude all long term effects and focus only on how attributes affect performance in a single game b) Get enough samples that the results can be meaningfully analyzed with basic statistics. c) Use teams and players that you would actually manage in a normal game. (The "attribute league" used players with all attributes set to 10, same exact players in all positions on the pitch) I can share details on the setup later if there is interest (it probably needs to be a video), but for now I just wanted show some preliminary results and ask what people think of the whole endeavour. So here are my evaluations of the technical attributes: https://i.imgur.com/QfIyn1s.png Y-Axis is points per game. Each attribute was increased by 6 points for each player. I.E. increasing passing of every player in a team by 6 gives that team ~0.26 points per game that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. The confidence intervals are "95% interval estimates" or two-sigma. So what do you think? Do you find it distasteful trying to figure out how the game works internally and that I should just play the game "normally"? Would you want to see tighter confidence intervals (more samples and more simulation time) or wider set of experiments e.g. combinations of two attributes? If I'm eventually fairly confident that some attributes are actually harmful to your team do you think that is a bug that should be fixed? Note that I'm not calling these results conclusive yet. Even though attributes like crossing performed poorly in my test it could just be that high crossing requires high vision or high technique to go with it. I'm fairly certain that high flair needs high technical ability to function properly. [link] [comments]

I HAVE A PLAYER WHO ALWAYS LOOKS FOR THE PASS ACROSS GOAL!! Posted: 17 May 2021 02:01 PM PDT his name is Merveille Papela from mainz. i swear to god this man has 5 composure, 10 teamwork, 10 vision and i thought they had to have high teameork. Although his 15 passing and 14 decisions may be what causes it. He isnt first team level but has decent potential so i just gave him a game and he's just been whipping out sweaty goals left right and centre. i am shocked [link] [comments]
