    Colleague in work asked me do I prefer this job to my old one. Honestly mate, three fucking seasons and alls I've done is La Liga title and a Copa Del Rey. Quarters is the best weve done in UCL in all 3 seasons. I honestly feel like leaving Leeds was the biggest ever mistake. I am hating being at Atletico Madrid. I couldn't build this youth team given a 100 years. You've given me a €200M budget and the boards too nice. I might take that offer from Brescia.

    Look, we all know the list of things that need to change in FM20 is so long it goes all the way down to the Earth's molten core, catches fire and goes up in smoke only to go unseen for another year by an SI that spends another year rolling out a single feature which would be one bullet point on the back of the box of any other game. But here is what's pissing me off today...

    Let me ask Players about potential interest in them. Transfer stories and what they want.

    If I have an academy kid I raised from 16, and I am their favoured personnel, and they think incredibly highly of me, and they are currently the lynchpin of a side that massively over performing - let me ask them if they want me to accept a bid that 4 times the yearly operating budget of this club, harpooning my chances this year but allowing him to run free. They are effectively my child at that point, probably by law in some of the places I manage, and I do care what they want.

    We can even do that back and forth using text boxes where I say 'you'll go into their reserves, you're 20 years old, but here you are the best thing to happen to this city since the invention of pornography' and they say ' I'm not happy with how you handled this but I am a professional. I'm going to go, but I am sure that you'll be wanting something from me soon' (or whatever ) ... if that's what it takes... but really I want "Hey, rumours are that PoopypantsFC are considering going in for you for a big fee, I'd like you stay obviously, what do you think" and then they say "Playing for PoopypantsFC would be a dream come true for me" and then I say "Ok, good to know, thanks bye."

    Let me get some sort of idea from them BEFORE the offer goes in (with a chance to discuss it with them press buttons about it) and I stare at it wondering what they hell fake people want from me - trying to intuit non-existent preferences, and then doing damage control with that god-awful button pressing mini game 'discussion' that is as predictable as fucking lottery numbers and limited to "Yeah well fuck you / I'm your boss get over it / I'm so sorry / I'm so sorry if that ever happens again I will accept literally $1 if it means you'll love me again"

    Oh, also - Please make 'Backup' mean something to contracts. If I sign one more 33 y/o right back as my 4th choice depth option to cover me in case I can get a prospect out on loan for exposure and they start bitching they want more chances on the first team, I am going to explode. At least let us have a new contract option... call it a 'Bale' contract where they explicitly understand they are to come here, show up to practice and collect a salary until told otherwise... and probably won't be told otherwise.
