• The one time switching to very attacking actually works for me.

Posted: 04 Feb 2021 04:09 PM PST Seriously though - a half decent home-grown multi-position 'emergency backup' who knows his role is worth his weight in gold. He doesn't come demanding a new contract every season, he doesn't come crying about playing time, he satisfies all the home-grown/club-grown roster requirements for you, and he does a decent job slotting in at most positions because he's flexible - with good mental attributes to make sure he doesn't screw anything up when he does get in the game. He's typically content to hop onto the field for the 5-15 min leftover time at the end of matches to earn his check, but he can also give you an emergency start if you need someone to hold down the fort because one of your idjit starters stepped on a lego first thing in the morning and knocked himself out of the game. ... I'd be willing to pay 'regular starter' salary to these 'emergency backups' and it would be worth every damn penny for the peace of mind they bring. Does reputation impact awards? Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:20 PM PST Tammy Abraham has put up elite stats for 5 seasons for me without getting the proper recognition. His (all comp) goal totals have been 37, 39, 47, 50, and 46. European Golden Shoe every year but one. Average ratings of 7.23, 7.34, 7.40, 7.36, and 7.47. Unreal stuff. Yet he has never won Premier League player of the year, nor UEFA Player or the Year or Balon D'or. Never even in the top 3. I have always found this strange. I bought Mbappe, who walked into the team and won UEFA Player of the Year. Damn, he must have been great to outshine his teammate Abraham, you must be thinking. 31 goals in 37 apps due to injury, 7.30 average rating. In fact, just looking at ratings, neither of them were my best player this past season. That honor goes to Nuno Mendes and his 7.62 rating. So how is it that my third best player won a continental award that has eluded me for so long? Is it truly just because his name is Kylian Mbappe? I'm SPAL and I've managed to lose to Reggia despite the fact they didn't create a single chance. They didn't even get an xG rating! 18 shots, 5 on target. Their goal came because my defender - instead of passing to the keeper like a normal person - blasted the ball towards the goalie who watched it fly past him.
