- I found new Inzaghi - he doesn’t dribble, he doesn’t pass, he barely jumps, he doesn’t have muscle, but he can score.
- 10 10 10 10 10 10
- A goalkeeper got the most Man of the Match awards in a league season. I don't think I have ever seen this before!

Posted: 30 Jul 2020 03:55 PM PDT When I opened the laptop today - top of the league, Champions League final, Copa are Rey final, and 5 games left in the league, of which I was 10 points clear of second place, Barcelona. A celebratory Paella was prepared. Lose in the Copa De Rey final to Valencia. Lose three in a row, against two bottom sides. Draw. Lose to Valencia to lose the title to Barcelona. Lose the UCL final - to Valencia. I had not lost more than 3 games all season before this point... Morale was green. Tactics were tweaked. Everyone was happy, strikers were scoring, wingers assisting, defenders tackling. But we still lost. Losses from nowhere, with no obvious reason why. Even the usually tight board were sympathetic. No anger from the fans, players, or my staff. Just light confusion. I've lost cup finals before, league titles, easy wins, whatever. But I've never ever felt like this before. I was expecting to have the best ever season of my life in any FM game, culminating in a continental treble - or at least just any of the three trophies... but it turned out to be the very worst. By far. I've never felt sick and destroyed to the point it's upset me in real life, even hours later. It feels like I've just watched my own real team lose the league on the final day. I feel odd for feeling it, but it's crushing. Two club legends have testimonials next week, in their final seasons before retirement, and now I feel I should just call in a bomb threat because I can't face their kids looking up and asking me why their daddies keep coming home with losers medals. This was to be their perfect end to the season, not the end of their lives... How does a game do that? Heartbroken. But I'll still play tomorrow. FM is life <3 And I fucking hate Valencia. An injury may absolutely ruin my season Posted: 30 Jul 2020 06:48 PM PDT In September, my starting goalkeeper threw a fit and demanded to leave. Why he didn't do this a month earlier during the transfer window I have no idea. I was going to be stubborn and keep him. Then I found a 20-year old kid from Cameroon that is almost as good. The bonus, he would only cost $700k. I put in the bid for him, he agreed to the contract, but then had to apply for a work permit. I knew he'd get one so I sold my keeper for $17 million. The day after I finalize the deal, the Cameroon kid gets injured for 4 months. The deal is cancelled because he failed his physical. Then in November, I try to sign him again (his contract expires at the end of December). Once again he agrees to terms. And once again, he fails his physical and the deal is cancelled (even though he'll be healed by the time he joins). He proceeds to sign a new deal with his current club. There is nobody whose value really matches his ability. My only keeper is a guy who is suited to play three leagues below me. I have a 2 point lead in the league and a Champions League date with Arsenal in a few days. I'm screwed. [link] [comments] | ||
