    "Who should I manage?" Megathread

    Posted: 07 May 2020 03:54 AM PDT

If you're looking for a team to manage, a challenge to do, or you yourself have suggestions for teams/challenges for other people to do, use this thread to discuss.

This is to seperate these kinds of questions from the Help Thread, which is more for gameplay/tactics questions

Also apologies to people asking for team suggestions whose posts I've been removing for the past 5 days, I completely forgot to make a new one of these when I took the last one down

I think I've been playing too much FM recently

I legitimately just opened LiveScore, saw that Osnabrück was playing in the German second division and had a moment where I thought about checking to see if the winger I loaned to them was playing

The player with the highest penalty taking attribute would be a good choice for taking penalties.

Was hesitant to share this, but figured why not? Rennes have just ended my unprecedented unbeaten run in Ligue 1. This result ends a run of 138 unbeaten. Three consecutive 'Invincible' seasons.

Helmut and Tödger - A German Adventure

    Posted: 26 May 2020 06:19 PM PDT

We decided we wanted a challenge and that it was far to easy to just walk into a top club.

For almost ten years we've been summiting the peak of leagues across Europe in solo saves.

The jobs we took were Union Berlin for my friend Tödger *1 and SC Paderborn for me, Helmut *2. They were expected to finish 17th & 18th respectively. The only goal for each club being to fight for league status respectably.

Tödger only lasted a mere 180 days *3 before meekly moseying out the door to and indignified period of unemployment, having won only two games of 16 and leaving a despondent Union Berlin side languishing in the lowest echelon of the Bundesliga table at 18th place. His record so abysmal and all hope of survival at his grubby hands lost in the eyes of Die Eisernen, they were left with no choice but to shit-can him (a colloquialism for termination of employment).

Helmut however held an entirely different record with SC Paderborn, catapulting them to a season of burgeoning hope. In eighth place they sat on the 181st day of his reign *4 when the nouveau riche honey pot that was Union Berlin came calling. They had wilted under the pressure of their princely pre season ambition of a ninth place finish and found theirselves in the depths of despair, 17th place was no standing for a club with the dreams Union Berlin had, and Helmut was in their eyes the only man for the job.

Shockingly a team agreed to interview Tödger, despite his shady history and lack of real charm or depth. SV Werder Bremen desperate beyond all reason even caved in to his hairy palmed pressure and allowed him to manage a team who had been struggling all season. In an even more shocking turn of events he managed to keep the team in 15th *5 place in the interim, but all the while a mastermind chased and bit at his derrière given any chance.

So now you're caught up and we're at the present day 24/02/2020, SV Werder Bremen led by the incapable Tödger sit in a measly 15th position having managed to conjure up a miracle and scrape past the vastly superior Helmut's spectacular Hertha side with a 2-0 "victory", subsequent wins against Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg in addition to a draw against SC Freiburg keep them in pole position to avoid the drop.

Plucky Hertha with a transfer expenditure of only €158m *6 this season have not been so fortunate to climb out of the relegation zone yet. The agenda of the referees of the league made clear and 16th place all that has been achieved as of now. Despite the defeat to Tödger that was mentioned prior, they have managed to put together a good run of form and have drawn with VFL Wolfsburg, beaten Bayer 04 Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Mainz 05 who all sat in the top 7 before said games.

With only eleven games of the season remaining anything can still happen. *7

With only 20 points between 16th and 5th, European competition is still a likely outcome for the maverick Helmut, however inside reports from the camp concede that Tödger has already resigned himself to failure at yet another club.

if you're not interested in this shit let me know.

conversely if even one person likes this i'm going to keep posting mine and my mates stories. So from Helmut and Tödger good night sleep tight don't let the superclubs steal your regens because they're you're regens and no one elses
