Dear Lord, what a sad little life Southampton. You ruined my unbeaten season completely so you could have the 3 points, but I hope you spend them on getting some lessons in grace and decorum because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on

    Don't Drink and FM

    Posted: 13 May 2020 08:41 PM PDT

I'm currently in the middle of a transfer window. I got the message "Espanyola in bid for Frey." Frey is my 25-year old Swiss striker. 6 years ago he was my biggest transfer ever. All he has done since then is score 104 goals. He is also a really good attacking midfielder so when my #1 AMC is hurt or on international duty, Frey fills in there and has racked up 71 assists with a 7.4 average rating. His contract is running out at the end of the season and it was always my intention to resign him.

In my head I thought, I sure better sign him before he leaves for nothing. Then I took a break, had some dinner, and had a few drinks. Completely forgot somebody offered him another contract... until I got the message that "Espanyoal to sign Frey."

So my friends, never drink and FM. And if you do, don't do it during the transfer window or you may lose one of the best players you've ever had for nothing.

My Really Average First Football Manager Career. [PART 3]

    Posted: 13 May 2020 12:33 PM PDT

Well. this post is going to be short...

After resigning from Walsall after failing to get a playoff spot, I was targeting a Championship/League 1 team. Nottingham Forest needed a manager, I applied. I didn't even get an interview. Not to worry I thought, there are plenty of other jobs around, the season has just finished!

August came and went, and the 2021/2022 season had begun, and I still haven't got an interview for any club I wanted to join. We were coming to the end of 2021 when I finally got an interview. Cambridge United. They were 23rd in League 2. My target was to just survive. Easy I thought.

On New Year's Eve 2021, I get offered a contract. I took it straight away. I join the club, looked at the players, and just didn't feel any connection with them. I didn't know what it was, maybe I was missing Walsall, but I just didn't like the players.

6 games later, with 1 win and 3 losses, I resign. 29 days in charge. They did end up surviving at the end of the season, and I will take some of the credit for that. The 2021/22 season ends, and I still didn't get an interview anywhere I wanted. I did get an interview from Colwyn Bay, but I was never going to go there in my career, I told myself. I wanted to get higher English divisions with a better club. The Premier League was my destiny. Who would have thought by this time next year my management career was in ruins?

From Barcelona to Istanbull to Kelty. I may not be able to afford his £1,000 a week wage demands but thanks to the Ladbrooks Scottish Leage Two trialist rules Arda Turan makes his debut.

I thought they'd be disappointed to see him go. Apparently not
