Football Manager - Can't hate Crouchy |
- Can't hate Crouchy
- To everyone bitching about FM for not being realistic, look how accurately it has described me and I'm not even a real life manager.
- What I imagine ‘listening passionately’ to look like
- My 8 man Liverpool team scored the winner in the 99th minute in the Merseyside derby
- THIS IS NOT A DRILL!! He finally squared it...
- Not the wisest move to be honest but still hoped for better outcome
- And what’s the longest injury you’ve seen?
- I love small details and world building like this! (see comments)
- Anyone else ever have someone from outside of a European league win the Ballon d'Or?
- just won 6-1 using a 2-3-2-3 formation
- Playing as Ipswich, just won the prem for the second time in three seasons and club gets taken over. New owners spend £183M on VJ as part of a 'campaign promise' without my say so, pay him 2x my next highest paid player, then have the balls to criticise me for the finances involved in the deal.
- It's not just me, right?
- He sold anyone who can play between the lines. (sent to a mate who doesn't play FM, but I tell all my stories to regardless.)
- Why is it the player with the highest penalty taking stat that always misses?
- The highlight of my managerial career so far
- After 18 shots on target and 4 clear cut chances your team still cann't score but the rival defender helps you out of pity..
- My Really Average First Football Manager Career. [PART 2]
- Loving my Dulwich Hamlet save! ✌ On to the National League!
- Probably my best achievement to date on FM20. Nesrly threw it away but hung on in the end!
- So i got fm20 and i thought for my first save to manage the amateur team of my village...

Why is it the player with the highest penalty taking stat that always misses? Posted: 12 May 2020 05:56 PM PDT Why does a player with 16 finishing, 17 penalty taking and 14 composure seems to always miss from the spot while some shitstain defender from the opposition with 5 on all stats never misses? Why do world class players in this shithole game miss 50% of their penalties? [link] [comments]

My Really Average First Football Manager Career. [PART 2] Posted: 12 May 2020 08:30 AM PDT So, Walsall Season 2. This was going to be the season of promotion. I did some looking into what is good in Football Manager. Signing Youngsters. Gegenpress (whatever that is, I thought). Summer 2020 rolls around and I was prepared for anything. Me in my infinite wisdom, I sign some youngsters. How did I do this? By choosing a random Premier League club and signing some of the players with expiring contracts. Josh Giurgi and Ísak Snaer Thorvaldsson from Norwich, both on free transfers. I didn't even scout these players. Obviously they didn't work out. I also sell both of Walsall's Star Strikers, with Josh Gordon leaving to Shrewsbury for £59,000 and Caolan Lavery handing in a transfer request and joining Grimsby for £170,000. Not the perfect start to the Summer, but I knew I had to sign some players on with the funds gained from selling the strikers. D'Mani Mellor joins from Manchester United for £4.6k, and I also re-sign George Hirst on loan from Leicester. Nathan Collins also comes in on loan from Stoke, to be a defensive partner to Kory Roberts, my star player. I also sign Ryan Hanson on a free transfer, because a scout recommended him to me. The season begins perfectly, with D'Mani Mellor scoring on his debut. We sit 3rd by the end of September. We do get knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Forest Green in the first round and didn't even get out of the leasing .com Group Stage, but our FA Cup adventure goes on after beating Stockport in the First Round. Progress. In early November I still feel a Striker Short. Yet again, I decided to just sign some random free agent without any scouting. Amadou Bakayoko comes in. After leaving Walsall a few seasons ago, he returns. He was Gordon's replacement. I was sure of it. 1 goal in 9 appearances backed that up. We get knocked out of the second round of the FA Cup by Plymouth, but our league position was still strong. 6th position. 4 points behind 3rd and 5 points in front of 8th. Then the January transfer window opened. I needed to make some big signing to push on and get promotion. I sell Ísak Snaer Thorvaldsson for £31k. What an impact he made. My star winger Wes McDonald was sold to Sunderland for 190k, and my star player Kory Roberts went to Bolton for £500k. All within the first week of the transfer window. Not exactly what I had planned to be honest. But not to worry, I knew exactly who to buy. Jack Sanders joined on a free transfer, I loaned Archie Brown from Derby to replace McDonald, I spent £90k on Mark McGuinness from Arsenal to replace Kory Roberts, and I sign Rory Holden permanently after a loan spell from Bristol City for £70k. These signing did not help. I overpaid on every single one, and McGuinness was a big letdown. 14 games played for Walsall over a 6 year spell a the club from 2020 to 2026. This transfer business was not for me. The season still progresses well, and with 5 games to go, I am 7th, just in the playoff spots. I then lost 3 of the next 5 games and end up finishing 8th on the final day of the season. I failed what I set out for myself, even if the board was delighted with my finish. I resigned the next day. Where to next? I saw Nottingham Forest had a job opening, I will apply for that... Thanks for reading! Part 3 will be up tomorrow! [link] [comments]
