    Just won 9-2 against a team that is two divisions above mine

    None of my friends care about FM so I wanted to share this epic result here.

    I've created Portslade United myself (a suburb in Brighton & Hove) and started in the 8th tier. Gave myself 100000€ in the bank, a 5000-seater stadium with a starting attendance of around 1000 fans (which has grown by a few hundred since) and poor youth and training facilities with a reputation of 2000 (top 3 in my league in the 8th division).

    After my first season, in which I got promoted to Tier 7, I got a bunch of Premier League rejects on a free and built a team that would easily be good enough to fight for a playoff spot in the 6th tier. For this FA Cup game against Ebbsfleet, who are 21st in the Vanarama National, we were very slight favorites at 2.50 and somehow came away with a 9-2 win!!! They used a 4-3-3 and just left so much space for us to hit them on the break nonstop.

    So yeah, just wanted to share this little story. For anyone thinking about doing a lower league save and unsure about it, I can highly recommend it. Especially creating your own club. My favorite way of playing FM, just building something from scratch and enjoying the journey. Anyway, thanks for reading :)

    Can't get to grips with it lads. Over 150 hours now and I just find the same thing happens every season. Start well. Free-scoring. Conceding none. Set pieces flying in. Get about 1/3 of the way into the season and it just stops. Goals dry up. Set pieces stop coming. I try to tweak it - width, tempo, mentality. The usual - nowt works. What's the trick, lads? Do I have to bite the bullet and turn to Knap? Surely there's a way to stop this happening? Any help appreciated. Much love boys. x
