Me unveiling all my new regen signings

I decided to add the Eredivisie in as a playable league for the 2023/24 season and the regens are unreal

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:44 PM PST

Just curious if this has happened to anyone else?

I was aware that when I added the league mid save that a lot of regens would get added to the teams due to the number of blacked out players in their squads but the quality of the players added has just flooded the league with world class talent to the point where there are 20+ players that are valued at over 50 million.

I just played the most unbelievable CL Final

The matchup was me (Norwich), PL-Winner 2024 with 101 points, versus ManU, FA-Cup Winner and only team to beat me during regular season. I was worried because I havent found a good strategy against them for years.

Eventually I chose to go with a defensive 4-5-1, hanging my hat on counters via my homegrown, 21-year old, 19 pace world class striker Domingos. The brazilian, who I brought in very early in the safe, picked up a knee injury and had to go out in the 24th minute, which was a horrible shock. 10 minutes after that my arguably second best player, right winger Fattarelli, got injured too, but managed to stay in the game. Shortly after that, in the 39th, i conceded after a great run from Eden Hazard. At this point, i am the worse team by far. And that doesnt change after halftime, as my record transfer goalkeeper kept me in the game.

Now, around 60 minute mark, i need to do something, since playing a more offensive version of my starting tactic clearly wasnt working. I had a great but risky 4-4-2 at my hand, but since my left wing would change from inverted to proper I had to rely on Fattarelli staying healthy for the remainder of the game. I went boom or bust and made the change, replacing my defensive midfielder with a striker and bringing on Trincao, a club legend at this point, on the left. Not 5 minutes later, Trincao asissts Fattarelli for the equalizer. This opened the game up a little, but I was the worse team by every single metric still.

Then, in the 84th minute, Fattarelli cant go any longer. Im screwed. One of my strikers has to play on the wing in a defensive stand for the ages, it honestly felt like an eternity. I dont know how, but we survive to extra time. Thankfully I get the 4th sub and am back at 11 men. But I dont get a lot of breathing room, Icardi scores in the 97th somehow in the short corner through my CB and GK. At this Moment, the tide turns. United become passive. The second equalizer of the game, scored by my striker who fought so bravely on the wing at the end of regulation, is not the first big opportunity, and its only minute 104.

From there, only one team is playing with the Ball. De Gea saves chance after chance, and after beeing horrible for 100 minutes suddenly all stats are at least even. Then, with 10 minutes to go, they make their last sub, and for some reason bring on a polish 22-year old lad called Bejger, valued at 14K with names like Chalobah and Kondogbia still on the Bench. I believed that was game over. But f***in De Gea and incompetend finishing prevent another goal. Suddenly, I am already thinking about penaltytakers, they play a long ball, its the 122nd, and Icardi is alone in front of goal. The season went before my eyes as I saw myself getting FM´d, but Icardi scores from an offside position.

So penalties it is, which is a slight problem as I only have 4 capable takers on the field. ManU goes first and hits. My first is in. Their second is in. My second is in. Their third (Pogba) is saved! My third is in. Their fourth is in. My fourth is in. Their fith is in. On comes my captain, after a bad game and not a great penalty taker. He puts it away cleanly and I have won the Champions League in the most amazing game I have ever played in Football Manager.

    Edit: minor detail and spelling

since I was asked so nicely

Went unbeaten for the first time in FM (played since FM17) after 4 consecutive titles with Lyon. Even though I’ve won a lot of titles before on FM, this was the first time I managed to go unbeaten. Felt so good to finally do it and thought I’d share it with you guys since my friends don’t play FM.

This man looks dangerous, still feels like a risky buy though.

This was soul destroying. A 96th minute winner for Man United gives them the title. Buy that wasn't the worst thing...

My game finished in the 95th minute and I'm top of the table! I've won the league! There was even a trophy presentation for my team, Arsenal. I celebrate. I even nudge my wife to tell her... she doesn't care.

I praise the whole team... no comments available about winning the league, that's odd but no matter as I just watched the trophy presentation, you can't fake that!

Advance... and i see that screen. 2nd. 96th minute.

    Fuck.

Just imagine my players having to give their winners medals back. Stupid game and its broken ending.

Anyway, time to go and lose the Europa League final to Real Madrid, but i'll not count my chickens until I advance past the final match screen...

Has anyone ever seen a regen player become a staff member at such a young age?
