Please use this thread as a place to ask questions that are specific to your save, such as:

    • "Why is my tactic not working?"

    • "What role should I play this player in?"

    • "I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

If you are asking for tactical help/advice, please post an image of your formation and what insutructions/roles you have set.

As a rule of thumb, if you ask a question, answer a question. This is what keeps this thread alive and useful.

In my first ever UCL campaign with Norwich, we only managed to stave off a bottom-placed finish with our one and only win against a Dortmund side that finished bottom of the group. One year on, we're facing off Dortmund in the UCL final. Funny how things can change in football

The annual S&M (AKA Lower League Management) Thread

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 11:02 AM PST

    Hi guys,

For those of us who like to start with the Guiseley's and Bury Wycombe's of the world, finding advice on transfer targets, formations, and stress ball suppliers is a tad difficult. Hence I propose an annual thread for those of us sadistic enough to venture into the crazy leagues. I'll start by giving my experiences managing Leamington Spa in the Vanarama National North.

This year I found it much easier than the last few years. I'm not sure if it was a bug, but I was never stopped from signing new players, as long as their part time wage was at most £250 pw. This meant that by playing with the bonus, and release clauses enough, I could get most players on board. In total I signed a ridiculous 25 players over the season, paying for all of it with a superb FA Cup run, being knocked out by Palace at home (bastards). Without further ado, here are my recommendations for signings (best to worst):

David Mbala - AML (Used as a Winger)

Ah David, the apple of my eye, the Alpha to my Omega. Truly a gem, and, considering he played as a wide playing winger, 17 goals is a great return. As he was one of my first signings, I admit panicking and giving him a bit more than I needed to, on £450 pw - worth every penny. Not the best player in this list, but the one who I love the most - will almost feel sad at selling him in two season's time when we are in League 2. Ass Man's Report, and season stats.

Gaël Bigirimana - MC (Used as a Mezzala)

Far, far, far too good for the Vanarama National North, managed to sign him midway through the season on a heavily incetivised £250 pw contract. Ass Man's Report, and season stats.

Marcus Olsson - LB (Used as a CWB)

Exactly the same as above. Released from Derby last year, somehow he went until Christmas without signing for anyone, and was able to be signed for a measly £250 pw with incentives. Ass Man's Report, and season stats.

Chiori Johnson - RB (Used as a CWB)

Approached the club in the scouting centre. Much like a drowning calf approaching a great white, he was snapped up ASAP. Great full back, but stamina is a bit of a concern, meaning a decent backup is needed. Ass Man's Report, and season stats.

    Marc Wilson - CB

Good centre half, who is 32 by the end of the season, so at most I imagine you can get two years out of him. 6'2", enough pace, and again, shouldn't be in this league. Ass Man's Report, and season stats.

These are my top 5, and if you need a specific recommendation, pop a comment below and I or someone else can probably give some suggestions...

Here are my tactics for this year, fresh out of the Conte 16/17 book:

Overview, in possession, transition and out of possession.

    Hope these help someone!

Is there somewhere to see which player attributes have been upgraded/downgraded from FM 19 to 20?

I'm very interested to see which players have had an increase and who has had a decrease in their attributes compared to last years game.
