I'd absolutely love a "Replace Manager" feature

I wish, at game start up, I could click a team, click "Replace Manager" and then start the game as that teams manager.

I then play the game normally but with my replaced managers stats, appearance and reputation. I get their friends and enemies. Maybe I get their default tactics set-up. In short, I get to be Guardiola, Klopp, Pochettino or Allardyce.

Instead of the 20 minute fuckaround trying to decide whether "man-management" actually does anything, what the appropriate coaching badge for Hartlepool Town is and which facial hair style my tiny 3d avatar has, we'd be able to dive straight in and play as our heroes. Change all the "Welcome to your new club" messages at the start to "Welcome back from holiday boss" and you're golden.

I've always wanted to play as Bournemouth but I want to play them as Eddie Howe and to try and replicate his style. Not get the poor bloke fired and inevitably have to sack all the backroom staff cause they all still have "Eddie Howe" in their favoured personnel and i'm worried i'm gonna Red Weddinged at training.

I can see why SI has put so much effort into their manager customisation and why it seems to get more elaborate every year. They want to build that connection to your manager. Things get a little more RPGish each iteration and I think that's a good thing, I say go the whole hog and have XP, perks, traits etc, but for me, most of the current custom manager stuff falls a little flat and ends up feeling like a waste of time.

Allowing us to play as current managers on the other hand allows a whole world of opportunities. For me this game has always been about the tactics, something that's improved enormously in FM19, and it'd be just awesome if I could try and emulate the styles of different managers, while playing as those managers.

What do you think? Would you want to see this? What problems could it face? I'm guessing that generally using real peoples name/details in a game is murky from a licensing standpoint?
