    And I won!

    After bouncing around the Hong Kong league for a few seasons, getting some qualifications, I eventually went for the Tianjin TEDA job in the Chinese Super League, a team which had finished 10th the past few seasons who were now in the relegation zone approaching the end of the season. I wasn't expecting the job offer and neither were the fans who were not pleased when a 23 year-old English man became their new manager, but I quickly turned their (and the players who also weren't pleased with my reputation) opinions around.

    I pulled them up to 10th that season, the next was my first full season in charge and we finished 3rd. The season after that was a Man City-Liverpool type title race which headed down to the final day in which all we had to do was gain a point against a mid-table side who we had beaten many times before... well you can see where this is going. It was 1-1 until the 95th minute where a fluke ball went over the top of my defence and was smashed past my keeper and resulted in us missing out on the club's first ever title win by a 4 goal difference.

    Flash forward to this current season where we finally won the league with 3 games to spare, only conceding 14 goals the entire campaign and broke the CSL clean sheets record (with my new goalkeeper, I'm still blaming my old one for losing the league last season lol). Really, what I was aiming for was the Asian Champions League after being closely and cruelly knocked out in the group stage last season, I really thought the team was good enough to go the full distance and win it all and it turns out we were. We comfortably dispatched Iranian side, Esteghial in the final 4-1 (over 2 legs).

    It's now 2022, I'll stay on to manage Tianjin for the Club World Championship in a month but after that I'll resign and move onto my next club and hopefully the next Champions League!
