Guys, I think I’m a little screwed here. (For context, I’m on my 4th season and top Conference North/South players are considered to be star signings)

Suck at league, Boss in Europe

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 08:24 PM PDT

This happens with most of my saves, where I suck at the league but dominate whatever european competition im in. Now im with Atalanta, where Im 12 after 13 games with only 14 points but 1st in a Europa League group with Arsenal after 5 games. How do I start playing better in the league?

Owner of multiple version of this game over the year - still have NO idea what I'm doing

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 11:21 AM PDT

I think I'm suffering as an American who didn't grow up immersed in soccer (or even really, a passing interest in it until about 5 years ago).

I get super overwhelmed by this game - I usually bottom of the table and I don't have any idea where to go for resources. Most of what I see online seem to be specialized guides and I haven't found something that really calls out to me as a beginner.

I think part of it, is I just don't really understand all the terminology (wtf is a false nine?). I don't quite understand the transfer system, loans, contracts or...scouting really. I couldn't tell you the difference between a Sweeper Keeper or a Goalkeeper. A wingback vs an Advanced Play maker, or any other number of things I feel like I need to understand before I can really make meaningful decisions in the game.

This is not a complaint about the game, or a request to dumb down the game. I'm just having a hard time even finding a starting part to start focusing on to get better at the game.

I know in Crusader Kings there's a recommendation to start with Ireland as kind of "tutorial island" where you can get better through learning. Is there a team or set up like that in this game? Like a club/league that's really good for beginners to learn with some room to mess up a bit and still recover from that?

I'm open to all resources - guides, youtube videos, whatever will help me get better at this game, without holding my hand to the point that I don't learn anything.
