How to see the tactics assman used when I was on holiday

    Posted: 26 Aug 2021 09:40 PM PDT

I know I can see the positions the players played on when watching Formations of previous matches, but I want to know the exact role, instead of just a St(C) or a M(L) and so on. The assman is bringing better results than me so wanted to know what tactics is he using! XD

My players keep telling me that my 3-5-2 with a flat five, will expose us in the back. I guess that fear motivates them.

New to FM, where to start with patches?

    Posted: 26 Aug 2021 09:35 PM PDT

So I picked up FM20 when it was free on Epic.

I heard so much about the game and wanted to give it a try and maybe consider getting FM22 when it's out.

Where do I start with the patches?

I saw there was a user created 2021 update. Will there be one for 2022 or is that the end of the line since it's already an old game?

Is it worth it to apply patches or play vanilla? Can I even apply patches for the epic version or is that only for steam?

The Moscow school of Football Pt.2

The Moscow school of Football Pt.2

In part 1 i managed to get a surprise promotion with the Russian club Chertanovo Moscow, who by club culture, cannot buy any players. Coming into the first ever premier league season of the clubs history, our hopes were not high, being relegation favourites by some way. With financial trouble, a lack of centre halves and a 40 year old goalkeeper, we threatened to go straight down without a fight.

I was not hopeful coming into this season. The board giving us the marker of fighting bravely against relegation almost seemed a stretch coming into the season with my complete inability to make defensive tactics (seriously, its a problem lol). But even though we were relegation favourites, i hedged my bets on us at least being better than the clubs we were promoted with, and maybe with prayer, there will be teams shitter than us.

    https://preview.redd.it/4xcygmm8ppj71.png?width=538&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc98764a139de880ff72b99b48cc8a037cd0c285

The financial damage solved itself as I was not aware the majority of club income comes in one bunch, we were around a million in the clear, which didn't last long but at least the club got off my back for "fixing financial damage". But cruicially we kept hold of all of our players. Losing a few youth players who were never going to be good enough, but not any of our first teamers. I tried my hardest to upgrade the staff at the club, but the wages are just not there at the moment.

This was the starting 11 coming into the season, almost identical to the one last season, relying on Maxim Saveljev being our threat once again. The season did not start well. At all. Winning one and drawing 8 out of 18, conceding 40 goals. Our only win was a 2-1 win against fellow promotee Baltika, we also lost in the 4th round of the Russian cup including a loss to a team in the division below. Though we did have a promising 1-1 draw against Dinamo Moscow. Even though we had what i thourght was an appauling start, because of the number of draws we were only 4th bottom, in the relegation playoff above Sochi, Baltika and Chechen outfit Akhmat Grozny, Krylija Sovetov 5 points clear of us.

Not a bad preview at all, was hoping for a standout goalkeeper to replace the 40 year old Abaev but oh well.

Oh yes, now this is much better than i expected, plenty of wingers (which we dont use) but a 3* midfielder that will slot right into the team. But more crucially, a goalkeeper

    https://preview.redd.it/etx9x64vqpj71.png?width=3434&format=png&auto=webp&s=0214846b204db25c9351c0b96bcff4d56e08bc6e

Here he is, Roman Demidov, very excited for this one, goes right into our team at 15 years old.

    https://preview.redd.it/ti1jli22rpj71.png?width=3439&format=png&auto=webp&s=7048f185396bd9b68a06cc84493b5a2b54b86980

Here he is, our saviour. With Abaev rapidly declining we needed someone fast. Everyone we had at the club was decent, but was very poor at one standout attribute, this guy looks decent in most areas, not perfect mentally, but at 15 he'll get there. He will be starting for me as we start to faze Abaev out of the team, im willing to let him make mistakes to grow, Abaev was starting to make more and more mistakes anyway.

Heres another player that got promoted right away. His determination means he'll never be world class but hes a good young backup striker.

We came back from the winter break making some tactical tweaks, moving to a slower style of play, with a CAM instead of a CDM. Demidov and Smirnov slipped right into the team and we got off to a flyer against Krylija Sovetov, winning 1-0 in the opening game after the 3 month break. The losses against the big teams (who are considerably better than the rest of the league) became much more respectable, a 2-1 loss to CSKA due to a late goal and a 3-2 loss against Krasnador who went invincible. We went on to win 3 more games, 2 against relegation rivals Akhmat and Baltika, and a somewhat surprising 2-0 win against Rostov. We even managed a very credible 1-1 home draw against Zenit St.Petersburg. But at the end of the season, where did that leave us.

Only gone and done it. 12th place, guaranteed safety from relegation. Even after a 3-0 loss against Arsenal Tula on the final day of the season, a poor run of form saw Krylija Sovetov fall into the relegation playoffs. Saveljev yet again bagging the goals for us this season.

Here he is, the player of the season, 20 goals in the premier league, i cant see him not attracting interest in the transfer window but im hopeful to keep him yet again.

Special shoutout to this man. Came into the side at 15, kept 3 clean sheets and got a 7.02 average rating. Yes he conceded 21, but we really are a shocking team and i cant defend.

Im a little more hopeful going into next season going to be tactically tweaking some stuff to see what works and trying to make us slightly more defensively sound.

Thank you guys for reading, the kind words on the 1st one were very surprising, i didnt think anyone would read it! Im sure this one is a decrease in quality (the second one always is) and let me know if you want me to keep going :D. I hope you enjoyed (also help me defend... pls lol)
