have you ever quit a job because the Club felt like it was stuck and there wasn’t much to be done about it ?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 02:44 PM PDT

In my 1st season I took Stevenage from 23rd to 11th, then they wouldn't extend my contract, so I started applying else where towards the end of the season only to get sacked for that..

Next season, I took over Oldham, I'd say about half way into the season, same story. 23rd to 11th. All good but I noticed how poor the team was towards the end of the season.

3rd season. I took Oldham to the play offs, then requested a coaching course, got refused it so I quit. Seems a bit dramatic but look, I couldn't keep managing that team if the board weren't gonna help me. They were 2 million in debt and I was trying every cost cutting measure I could, the debt just got higher and higher. I couldn't scout, I couldn't buy anyone I couldn't even get anyone on a free because they were so poor. Had to quit.. club felt like it was a dead end..

Anyone else had any clubs like that ?

Anyone else feel like Personal Contracts (Between us and the club) could do with some tweaking for FM22?

I find it really frustrating that even as a club legend, long tenured, highly successful manager I have little to no wiggle room in my own contract negotiations. If they offer me 28k a week I might get that up to 30k but no way am I getting any higher. Meanwhile if I want to reduce the length of the contract by a year the offered wage gets halved.

Ultimately it's not a huge part of the game and it's not like the wage actually affects you in any way but it is still frustrating given the level of depth, flexibility and negotiation that can go in Player contracts.

I finally got a great wonderkid and I have no idea what to do with him. How in the hell would you go about developing a right back with these attributes?

One of the proudest moments one could ever experience in fm. Seeing two of your players who came up from the academy who you nurtured and took care of lifting the World Cup for their country
