    I ACTUALLY WON THE DOUBLE! After taking over Liverpool (my irl favorite club) after they finished 13th I spent 3 seasons trying to get them back and I have finally done it! This is my first ever epl or champions league win in football manager ever and I’m over the damn moon

    I've just recieved a £140M offer for Aouar who's valued at £68M from Real Madrid. I don't want to accept it but he wants to go and I know I can probably improve my squad overall with the money but I love him. I'm so torn

    Football Manager Tycoon and the problem of excess cash

    I saw the recent post by u/MrDudsyLBP4 in which they have amassed over £1bn from player sales and it is something I have had a similar issue with too. I would love to see a couple of tweaks to the game that would hopefully bring some of the excess cash some players develop into play.

    1. I would like to be able to set parameters to affiliate searches, it seems straight forward and I'm not sure why it hasn't been implemented before. Maybe things like minimum reputation, whether they play in a particular competition, how good their facilities are and most importantly which country they are in and what you want the affiliate for/to include. Maybe even the option to recommend a specific club yourself to the board. The current system is just so random, you could get recommended Boca Juniors or you could be recommended Bury, it is just too vague and you rarely get a club similar to what you are looking for.

    2. More options for dealing with affiliates, recommend the club use your excess cash to improve facilities for your affiliates, offer them x amount per year to improve their coaching teams etc. And another great thing would be broader financial support for affiliates, like they approach you saying "we have found a great youth player in our country, will you give us the £750,000 for us to buy him then we will include, first option for you and a 50% sell on fee in his next transfer." - if that doesn't contravene 3rd party ownership rules, im not sure whether it does.

    3. Make you manager relationships more meaningful, in my save I had Elliott Bennett as my u23's manager, we have a great relationship and he was offered the West Ham job. I would love to be able to speak with him directly to offer him loan players or first refusal on players I have transfer listed. The press always ask about your relationships but generally they don't mean a great deal.

    4. Debt, provide us with the ability to ask the board to use excess cash to pay off debt. Again this is another thing you would think is a feature already because managing finances is in a lot of the job promises, but other than not overspending we don't current have many options.

    5. Create a football group! Okay this is more ambitious but ask the board to buy other clubs, then they are treated like affiliates with the additional options like I have listed above. City Group and Redbull have already done this irl and it would be a great option to add in game for players who do generate huge amounts of money. Buy clubs, pay off debts, improve their facilities, fund transfers etc. then benefit from the youth players they develop. Plus it would give me a great sense of achievement if I had poured a load of effort into funding another club to see them compete for domestic and continental honors.

    I'd personally love to see a DoF mode where you are tasked with running the club rather than managing the first team but that is a separate wish, and I know there are some semi-work-arounds to some of the things I have mentioned. Like I can offer players on loan with West Ham through targeting but I still feel like relationships are a bit pointless atm.
