    I was the manager of Wrexham for five seasons. I got promoted to League Two in the first season itself. Spent an entire season in League Two before attempting for promotion the next season. In my third season as Wrexham manager (second in League Two), we finally win the league and get promoted to League One.

    First season in League One, Crystal Palace came calling for me. I declined because I had become attached to Wrexham. The club got taken over by a local businessman. They downgraded my youth level, sold a few of my good young players (and none of it went in club's development or squad), disbanded my senior affiliates and decreased my backroom staff members.

    In our second season in League One, we get promoted to Championship as League One winners. The board still hadn't invested in anything. I had a couple of months remaining on my contract when we got promoted to the Championship. Spurs, Liverpool and Napoli approached me for interview. I rejected them in the hope of a new contract at Wrexham. The board decided not to renew my contract and I was let go after June 30, 2025.

    Hi its me again!

    I do apologise for those of you who are following along, I got this update out a bit later than my usual 24 hours. Was a bit busy in the real world over the last few days and sadly FM life had to take a back step...

    In the last update, we were 17 games into our 2nd season and sitting in a tight 3rd place in 2.Bundaslegia and in the discussion for an unlikely promotion run.

    Transfer News:

    I let Stephen Salger leave us in January, he was a CB we started with and did pretty well up to now but was getting annoyed with the lack of game time. I didn't want to run the remaining games with only 3 CBs because I just knew there could be injury issues.

    So I made yet another loan move for Central Defender and another Bayern Munich 2 player as well to join Chris Richards on loan. Hes also off contract and its possible we can try and get him to agree long term and at least we can have a few games to keep a very close on him for now.

    Maxime Awoudja:

    I love his pace and thats something we lack in defence so I am hoping he does really well and we can try and sign him for free.

    We resumed the season after the winter break in late January and the next run of games was simply outstanding, we lost just the single game in a tight tussle with Stuttgart away from home.

    We also saw off Dusseldorf and Osnabruck in the DFB Pokal to glide into the Semi Final!

    Even I am quite surprised with the form and the wins over Hannover and Mainz could be huge come the end of the season

    With 5 games to go, we are sitting in 2nd place and have a game in hand. We also have a 6 point lead over 3rd place, so things are looking pretty nice at the moment and we could be in for the most unlikely of back to back promotions.

    We have the equal best attack (53 goals) along with Hamburg and most surprisingly the equal best defence (23 conceded) with Hannover

    A lovely payday for winning the cup quarter final! basically over half our bank balance in a single hit.

    The semi final draw for the DFB is out and we take on Dortmund. Frankfurt will play Leipzig in the other, Bayern was knocked out by Stuttgart in the 2nd round...

    Sadly the game against Dortmund went as predicted, they sweep us aside 3-0 and moved into the final. We were barely in the game to be honest, we only managed a few shots and they played us off the park, Haaland torched our defence twice in 4 minutes during he opening 10 minutes of the game and it was goodnight from there.

    We did thankfully bank another decent load of cash for playing the Semi Final and this helps us more than anything.

    Either side of the Dortmund defeat was 3 rather huge games...

    We win 2 from 3 and add another draw but this actually secured our very unlikely return to the Bundesliga at the first attempt of asking. Honestly quite amazed myself. The form post January has been sensational and powered us up the league.

    A huge final 2 games of the season, probably need to win one of them to clinch the title or maybe even a draw if Mainz dont win both.

    We did it! Back to back promotions and back to back Championships. Bundesliga here we come!

    The loss to Hamburg was disappointing but we had won the title before that game so I sent out most of the players I knew would not be coming up with us and the players were mostly the guys who were in 3.Liga last season, it was a farewell for them.

    Probably the smallest, least talented and most definitely the cheapest squad in the league and they pull off the upset to win the title!

    Mainz will be joining us in promotion, so just the 1 year down in 2.Bundesliga for them. Something interesting is that Hannover finished 3rd again, same as last season and they will play Union Berlin and thats who they played last year and lost to the playoff. Maybe some revenge for them!

    A huge payday for the club, this does boost out balances up closer to 20 million in the bank.

    The board here at 1860 is super tight and are going to ask me to not get relegated with only peanuts and mothballs to spend and pay the players with! the 165k per week total for the squad is not even half of what Robert Lewandowski is paid for a week.

    Season Squad Stats:

    To be honest, there is nothing really outstanding when I look at the squad.

    Arnel Jakupovic finished with 17 goals but his average ratings were pretty poor so he went missing in quite a few games this season. I have major doubts that hes good enough to score the goals we need in the Bundesliga.

    Loan singing Dennis Jastrzembski was solid down the left wing, he added 11 goals and 3 assists for a 7.02 rating. Id like to try and get him back again for next season if possible.

    January loan signing Maxime Awoudja actually finished with the best rating in the end with 7.14 but sadly when we went to offer him a contract to move for free, Mainz also offered him and he decided to head there and not 1860 Munich. Pretty annoyed about that to be honest.

    Summer Transfer Plans:

    I will need to operate in the free and loan signing markets yet again, I probably wont be able to afford any wages above 15-20k per week and if we can, then it will be only a select few players at most.

    Only 6 players averaged above a 7 this season, we still managed to win the title somehow. The alarming this is that half of those players are on loan.

    Inter seem open to extending the loan of Pirola, this is good as he speaks German now and knows the system which is good because we will have no CBs who are at the club and the upcoming free market is looking pretty poor in quality as well.

    There is the question if maybe the promotion was too soon? Probably but staying down again would only help to achieve in bringing in more players who are not of the quality to compete well in the Bundesliga, we might possibly bring in 1-2 players who could but at the end of the day, you should always be happy about promotion. My only personal fear is that we will get relegated and ill be sacked, I actually have no issues if we come last and we go back down really but I want to keep playing the save and FM can be ruthless in sackings.

    The goods news, I have played FM for many many years and I've never once been relegated.

    I feel like I am going to have to throw in some very young youth prospects and simply hope for the best, if they can get a season under the belt and also survive the league then we will be in a better place for the following season.

    I did get a few games into our star youth player Leon Majetic, I trained him to play forward and he did ok. Hes also developing quite nice as well. Still only 17 and has many years ahead of him to hone his craft.

    I will try and get the next few updates out ASAP, my general plan is trying to play and get at least one update per day out but the weekends are a little harder.

    I don't know if this is a thing or not but I'm pretty sure it isn't. If not, should they implement it? Not to any club legend of course, but maybe if the player reaches the top of the club legends list or something (since that's a difficult achievement).
