This game sure does mess with you sometimes Posted: 03 May 2021 01:29 PM PDT I'm at Bayern. It's 2028. Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka and Benjamin Pavard are all still here, but have been passed up in terms of ability. The problem is, they're still making, or asking for, 350,000+ a week and are all at least 31 (Kimmich is 34, Goretzka is 33). I'm spending at least 1.4 mil per week on them to come on as subs, and maybe get 15-20 appearances a season. Since they're club legends, I feel bad for cutting them loose. I mean, I do have 7 mil per week available for wages, but spending 20 percent of that on subs seems like a bad idea. I wish they'd just retire. Pavard just left over a squabble. I begrudgingly resigned Sane because he would take less money, although he's still making north of 200k a week and it's an 18 month deal. But the way it stands now, Goretzka and Kimmich are going to walk out the door this summer instead of finishing their careers as the club they spent so much time at. Kimmich wanted 75k per week MORE than he's making now. Honestly he's the one I used the most, but to have my highest earners be subs is crazy. Why do I feel horrible about this? Posted: 03 May 2021 04:19 PM PDT Hello! I'm new to the game, and while I would like to believe that I got the basics covered and am able to manage myself well - there is a lot I do not understand. My biggest concern is the finance bloat. So I am in my 6th season (led Hertha for 4 seasons, now I'm managing my second season at AZ). At some point at Hertha, my expenses appeared to be out of control. How does the wage structure work - do player contracts scale directly with the club's reputation/success, is it perhaps a percentage based off of your current balance, or what seems to be the case? I did pretty well at the club, so I had no problem signing high profile players in the last two seasons there - but they were demanding a RIDICULOUS amount of money. Fine, I'm not exactly Barcelona or Man City as far as my world reputation goes - but I'm talking about paying a fortune, often more than those 2 clubs pay their own players! Even the younger and less famous players demand a huge salary. I did buy and sell a lot of players for profit, my balance was around 500 mil at some point, payroll 24 mil. I was printing and hoarding money, but it appears to be counterproductive, and it spikes everything up. I guess it makes sense - you spend more when you make more, but it's absurd. Should I spend my transfer budget every window, keep my overall finances at a much lower number consistently? Is the AI is rigged? I would even lose players to other clubs once the bidding war starts, when they would offer them smaller salaries. And what's up with the clubs asking for more money from me than AI clubs, they expect me to pay like 20% more to enter the negotiation war? I just don't understand why do I have to pay more, I wasn't even number 1 club in the Europe... [link] [comments] | ||
