I stopped Liverpool from buying anyone for whole summer transfer window.

    Yep, that happened.

Backstory: Pep signed for Liverpool, said stupid stuff about me and club, rubbed me off wrong. So, I decided, I am gonna make them pay. I am sending my youth players to all of their rivals including Everton and United. Everton's top scorer last season was my player, who I sent out for free.

Anyway, I found a neat little trick to take revenge. Basically all I had to do was use "social" tab every day and follow Liverpool closely. Every time, there was a hint of Liverpool targeting a player, I will go in with a 200-300million dollar bid. Clubs accepted my bid instead of Liverpool obviously. I offered a million dollars a week wage to the player, so they were interested in signing with me instead of Liverpool. And then I changed my transfer budget to zero.

So, now, every week, I get a mail about 20 players who are ready to join if I fix my budget. But I just delay it till the last day of transfer season. And voila, 2 months later, window is closed, I rejected all of the players and now they can't sign for Liverpool either. All of Liverpool's rivals got strengthened by my youth players and squad players.

It is October now, and Liverpool is struggling to keep the pace already. No new signings, so they keep playing youth players in every game. All of my players are getting really awesome game time. It is glorious. 😍

Bolton Wanderers - back from the brink (II)

    Part 1: https://bit.ly/2HFU8eI

The 2025/26 season was a highly anticipated one amongst Bolton fans. It was easy to remember the struggles of last season, but the reality was that Bolton still had one of the largest wage bills in the league. Even though it seemed that this new manager was a golden ticket, the board were still going to put pressure on him. They wanted playoffs, or he would be gone.

Optimistic as the mood was, transfer business started on a negative. Promising striker Jon Boardman was sold to Portsmouth for a fee as low as £60k. The rest of the business soon showed that the club was going to step away from only using its own youth players. Young loanees from the top two leagues were told that Bolton's training facilities and former premier league manager meant that it was the ideal place to develop. 6 loanees walked through the front door that season, with Bolton not paying a penny for them. The only permanent signing was Scott Rose, released by Tottenham. The creative midfielder with an eye for goal completed a new look squad. A squad of talented players, far too good for the league they were in, but they were set back by their inexperience and lack of cohesion.

The first two months of the season were a struggle. The players didn't know each other, and Bolton faced off against some strong teams early on. A lowlight was a resounding 4-0 loss to FC United, a result that left them in the bottom 6 after three games. But over the course of the next few months, Bolton's young squad got familiar with the unorthodox tactics of an unorthodox manager. The system relied on having very little of the ball, and always creating with possession. Every time the ball was won by the high press, it was distributed to the wingers of the 4-4-2, who were told to be creative, take risks and get the ball into the area, where the deadly Dylan Beale would pounce. It meant that Bolton were often high scoring, failed lots of passes, had very little of the ball- and were usually victorious.

By January, the halfway point, Bolton were comfortably in the playoffs, but 7 points off of the league leaders. Some crushing early season victories were countered by a pleasing victory away at the top of the league table, Hartlepool. An FA cup run leading to a home game against League 1 side Oxford drew 22,000 spectators, the most for over 3 years. The way the side was clicking made fans sure that they could mount a title challenge that very season.

That January transfer window brought some very concerning rumours.

One of the stories of the season had been the emergence of a young CB. Ashley O'Brien was a teenage sensation, born in Runcorn, near Bolton. Ratings wise he was by far the best defender in the league, and his breakout season had drawn the attention of clubs like Huddersfield and Bristol City. It went till late in the window before bids started to be made, and eventually a fee of £3M was agreed with Huddersfield. It simply was not possible for the club to turn it down. Everyone knew that. The question was, was it possible for the club to continue this run without its star prodigy?

For a long time, it seemed that the answer was an easy "yes." Bolton won 11 games on the bounce, and drew 6 points clear of Hartlepool. But a ridiculously unlucky final 9 games saw Bolton win 4/9, with late goals and red cards frustrating the team. It seemed that a bottle was inevitable and that Bolton would have to fight through the playoffs. It all came down to the final day. Hartlepool had 93 points. Bolton had 91 and a much higher GD. Both faced lower midtable teams. Hartlepool had Dulwich Hamlet (H). Bolton had Chorley (A).

In Bolton's view, their game was going off without a hitch. Chorley's 4100 capacity stadium was full- and the majority of fans were from the away side. An early lead, followed by veteran winger Jay Fitzmarten scoring a free-kick, meant that Bolton had done their job. But it seemed there was no last day miracle in sight. Hartlepool were two goals up at home.

Well, they were 2-1 up now. Dulwich had pulled one back in the 84th minute. But that was just a consolation goal.

Hang on. What's the radio saying?

They've what? Speak up. They've... Equalised? In the 90+4?
