Football Manager 2020 Youth Intake Interval Dates for Top Division Clubs per country

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 01:02 AM PDT

Searching for the Youth Intake dates in FM2020 gets nothing but the usual lazy "It's randomized" without any further elaboration, so I decided to take it upon myself to see the interval dates from which clubs of most important countries actually have youth intake days, so if someone other than me is interested, they'll know when to start looking.

Keep in mind that this is solely based on a single 6-European & 2 S.American League 2033 save game file that I'm using, so I cannot guarantee 100% certainty.

    Some caveats that I've seen:

    1. If the nation has no selected leagues in your game, and doesn't have a significant influence in your game's player database, usually most 1st Division teams of that country will have their youth intakes within 3 days of the Youth Intake Date Start. However, if your game has a country's leagues, it can take up to 4 weeks for all the top division clubs to have their Youth Intake Days. Lower division clubs (or rather clubs with poorer youth infrastructure, more on that below) begin their Youth Intake Days roughly around the same date that the Top Division ones finish and it progresses downwards into the amateur levels, depending on how many leagues you have of that country.
    2. What I noticed is that the order by the teams have their Youth Intake Day follows how good their Youth Recruitment is compared to other clubs in that country from the leagues you have running on the game, so in truth in a country where you have a large database for your game, if a lower division club has outstanding youth infrastructure, it may very well be among those to get a Youth Intake in the first few days. Case in point: Belenenses, which is in the third Portuguese tier, got its youth intake in the second day, after the best academies in Portugal (Benfica, Sporting, Porto, and a couple others)

Yearly Youth Intake Earliest Date Start Countries
    2/1 USA
    16/1 Colombia
    17/1 Uruguay
    5/2 Norway
    23/2 Russia
    27/2 Mexico
    3/3 Austria
    5/3 Serbia
    6/3 Indonesia
9/3 Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey
14/3 England, N. Ireland, Scotland, Wales
    16/3 Ukraine
    18/3 Slovakia
19/3 Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia,
    26/3 Holland
    29/3 Spain
    3/4 India, South Africa
8/4 Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belize, Bermuda, Bosnia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, Chad, Costa Rica, Curaçao, Dominica, DR Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Gibraltar, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mayotte, Montenegro, Montserrat, Morocco, Namibia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, North Macedonia, Oman, Palestine, Panama, Qatar, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Martin, Syria, Tahiti, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Uganda, US Virgin Is., Yemen, Zanzibar
    20/4 Hong Kong
    1/8 or 2/8 Malaysia
    14/8 Iceland
    18/8 or 19/8 Finland
    3/9 Sweden
    14/9 Australia, China
    15/9 South Korea
21/9 Afghanistan, Barbados, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Is., Brunei, Canada, CAR, Chinese Taipei, Comoros, Congo, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Faroe Islands, Fiji, French Guyana, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liberia, Macau, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Moldova, Mozambique, New Caledonia, Nigeria, North Korea, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Sao Tome & Principe, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Sudan, The Gambia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe
    30/9 Chile
    8/11 Argentina

So if on a certain year, by that specific day, there is no youth intake in that country, the next day some club should have a youth intake day, otherwise it is unlikely that there will be a club in that country doing a Youth intake day.

So now every time that the date is rolling over, keep an eye out for the Youth Intake screen of those countries and now you have more tools to attempt to poach fantastic players while they are young.
