No Bullshit FM save part 0

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 08:42 AM PDT

I started playing football manager last year on fm19. I was an avid FIFA career mode player before and got frustrated by EA for not changing career mode ever year. So I bought FM19 last year and really enjoyed it! So I stopped playing FIFA and committed to Football manager. But there's a catch, I was a save scummer. Not just that, I also looked up wonderkids online and signed all the wonderkids there were. I did'nt commit to a save and kept changing saves every few months and never got past the 3rd year in charge of a club. I was the lowest of low of FM players

As I sat down managing spurs on FM20, Winning the quadruple in season 1. Naci unuvar, diogo costa, karamoko dembele in my under 18s and 20s. I was unfulfilled, i wanted to more out of the game then save scumming and winning everything. I wanted a challenge.

So I started off a new save, chose Norwich and called the save No Bullshit. I wanted to commit to a save a see how far i can go without save scumming, looking up players to sign online and just playing the game myself. This is my journey .

Ever leave a big job for a small one?

Have you ever left a secure job at the top to go to a much smaller club.

After pretty straight forward back to back titles with Barcelona and well placed for another I quit for a relegation threatened Albacete the division below, I kept them up and had an ok 2nd season before leaving for Roma while I still had my rep.

In a different game I left Brazil for Albania but that turned into a bit of a disaster - hammered most matches - (OT) that was a fun save ended up managing about 7 different countries. Including a one game wonder spell at Scotland

It's raining money after board take-over

Just scammed Chelsea, but I am scared I have become PSG

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:57 AM PDT

A few seasons ago in my Toulouse save, I signed a prime Matthijs De Ligt for just £28 million because his contract was expiring in a year. I don't usually sign players over the age of 21, but a 27 year old De Ligt for that price would make even those of you who usually would rather play the under 7s than a 23 year old reconsider. He was insane, and I loved having in my team. Four seasons later, I get a bid of about £34 million from Chelsea. I just laugh and reject it. A few days later I get a slightly less insulting bid of £50 million, but this time I decide to negotiate a really high bid, so I ask for £119 million. For some reason, they accept! I'm surprised, but at this point I have confidence that he'll reject seeing as Chelsea are in the Europa Conference League, and being managed by Taison, the Shaktar Donetsk player, of all people. 6 days later, I get an email asking to confirm the transfer. I am very surprised, but then I realised I was getting nearly £120 mil for a 32 year old with 2 years left on his deal, so I accepted.

Imo, Chelsea in game have more money than sense. They once spent £80 million on a back up goalkeeper. These days it's ridiculous sales like these that make me so much transfer profit. One summer at one point I had £600 million transfer budget. That summer I only spent £30m. Yet my board gives me hundreds of million every window. However this was the first season I spent more than I earned from transfer profits since my third year, by stealing PSG's best player, but I am now also scared I have become them. It's a strange dilemma.

Can you win a league without training?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 12:38 PM PDT

Having read the various interesting and thoroughly entertaining stories and FM journeys on here, I noticed one thing that didn't seem to appear, unless I'm wrong in which case please correct me, that there isn't a Sunday league style professional team.

I am asking you, the greatest community on Reddit by a country mile, if there is any chance of winning a league, or at least competing in a league, Sunday league style. This means a certain criteria must be met. What is this criteria I hear you ask? Well firstly, pre-match and post match pints are a must. This tradition is known to boost footballing ability by at least 0.5% on a matchday. Secondly, and possibly most controversially, there is no training, with a pure rock up and play to the best of your ability mindset from the entire club, with the exception of the week before a cup final where a maximum of 2, 1 hour sessions will be held. Thirdly, experience and pace count a lot in Sunday league, so some tough, aggressive players will need to be signed, as well as fresh faced, pacey teenagers to bring down the average age to 30.

Can it be done? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what can be achieved in such an experiment and whether it is of interest to y'all.

A team and league will need to be selected and I will do thorough research, which includes a lot of Tifo football videos, in order to select the perfect team cough Sunderland cough.

P.S. I hope your are all keeping well and are enjoying your football manager saves. Keep safe, keep happy.
