    • "Why is my tactic not working?"

    • "What role should I play this player in?"

    • "I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

If you are asking for tactical help/advice, please post an image of your formation and what insutructions/roles you have set.

As a rule of thumb, if you ask a question, answer a question. This is what keeps this thread alive and useful.

    God I love this game

    Posted: 24 May 2020 03:43 AM PDT

When I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about playing it. I just love turning smaller teams into the biggest clubs in England. The steady development of regens and wonderkids is incredibly satisfying and addictive. The depth and detail that this game holds is unparalleled than any other game I have played. Every win, loss, and near miss feels so real. This game literally makes you feel as though you are a real life football manager, and I love it.

What better way to spend lockdown.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Used the FM19 editor to take a League Two quality free agent and turn him into, what I'm hoping will become, the ultimate cult hero. 20s for every workmanlike stat - every stat you'd assume James Milner would be quality at -but League Two ability where it counts.

So, I decided to play the whole World Cup Qatar 2022 myself........

So, I decided to play the whole World Cup Qatar 2022 myself........

I love the world cup. It gives you those goosebumps nothing else can. I managed many of them through the FM's and got two times to the final with Holland, one time being murdered by Germany in the final, leaving the field with 9 man and losing 3-1 without standing a chance. The other time losing the next edition to England in the final on penalties after we ended normal time on 0-0, and in extra time they already got a penalty, the first time the ball went on to pass my keeper in the whole tournament. We scored the 1-1 tho but still lost in the lottery that is called penalties.

I still found something missed, you only play those games your team plays. The feeling is less. Then came this idea, what if I add managers and play as all the teams?

I first did the Euros, Portugal won it in the final against Spain and it was pretty fun. So I decided to try the real challenge, all world cup matches, even China against Wales. And o boy.

We are now halfway the group stage and it has been crazy. The record for most hattricks in one world cup has already been broken, it was 8 but is now 10. Kane scored 5 goals against Wales making him next to Solenka the only one to do so in the world cup and we have seen 120 goals so far. Only 52 left to break the record for that. I am not joking. Teams like Qatar and China existing surely helped. But 3-7 Wales England was crazy.

If Man United wish to be removed from the game I am happy to oblige

Long time reader, first time poster.

As we know Man U decided to sue Football Manager regarding FM's use of their trademark in the game.

I am doing a long term save managing my local team, where I got them from the Northern First Division to the Premier League but thought it would be fun to completely destroy the Red Devils as an additional challenge.

My formation is called 'Pointless Attack' featuring an experimental 1-3-3-3 formation with no defence (obviously). I also have the team roaming from their position, as that seemed appropriate.

In my first transfer window out went Lautauro Martinez, Erling Haaland, Diego Lainez, Frenkie De Jong, Marcus Rashford et al.

I then proceeded to find players with the stupidest names in the game to replace them, ordinarily paying way over the odds with ridiculous wages on top.

    My team for the opening game of the season is (no use of the editor to change names here!);

Titas Krapikas, Felipe Batarse, Dudu Ben-Shitrit, Sidney De Cock, Dick, Jack Gash, Jizz Hornkamp, Jin Fucheng, Mathys Kuntz, Mahmoud Pishdad & Mohamed Abo Fani.

My hope is not only to relegate the team but to bankrupt them too thus granting their wish to be removed from the game.

What do you all do for training players?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 05:20 PM PDT

I don't touch training, it looks too complicated and long. I've had a look online on some training videos and again it just seems so long.

But my players don't really develop. I have a 19 year old wonder kid who's technical stats all have the down arrow next to them.

The training responsibilities is assigned to myself but I don't touch the training, I just leave it as it is. Is it better to assign to a coach rather than myself if I'm not going to schedule the training?
