I want to turn Millwall into the most culturally diverse team in the world - Part 0

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 08:10 PM PST

Borrowing from u/Hurball and his beautiful stories about turning Millwall into the most aggressive team in the world, I thought I would do my own fun challenge - turn Millwall into the most culturally diverse team in the world.

I'm only fairly familiar with English soccer and brand new to Football Manager this year, but from what I've gathered in r/soccer and in a quick search of the internet, Millwall and the stereotype of their fans are often construed as racist.

So how do I go about making Millwall the most culturally diverse team in the world in Football Manager 2020? My thought is to get as many different language speakers as possible from different countries around the world and see if we can achieve harmony and promotion to the Premier League. I'm open to other suggestions on how I can achieve my culturally diverse team goal, if you have any.

To do this, given my limited transfer budget my thought is to identify the most cost efficient players who only speak one primary language fluently that is different from any other player on the team. I understand that this is likely to be difficult in the first season and many players speak English in some capacity. That's where I'm looking for help in identifying players that you may have come across in your many games of FM2020 that would fit my identified criteria. I'm hoping to play a Bielsa-like 4-1-4-1, but really I'll take almost any suggestion for a player to help make my dream team come true.

Again, if you have any other suggestions for ways to achieve cultural harmony at Millwall in my save, I'm all ears and looking for fun ideas!

    Cheers, u/medavis6

    Are you a petty manager?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 02:52 PM PST

I just started a new safe with Lyon and as always one of the first things I do is to look through the youth/reserve teams and offer (new) contracts to good talents.

When I tried with Rayan Cherki he refused to even talk because of the interest from other clubs. Within a week he had signed for man city for pennies.

And this is where I get petty. Real petty. I went straight to his training profile and changed a few things. For the next year and a half, until he turns 18 and moves, he will pratice as a centerback with focus on long throw-ins.

I doubt he likes that but damn it, as a manager I don't take shit, especially from unexperienced players.

It's the same if a shitty youth (less than 2 star PA) asks for more first team (like wtf?) play time or a new contract. "Sure thing, you can have a new contract and play more. At a new club. You're fired".

Edit: does anyone know how many times in a row I can send him on a four weeks vacation to rest as on a second thought, him not training the next 18 months might be even better.

It's normal to come second in the league and have a negative goal difference, right?

Semifinal in the Champions League. We need a goal to progress. We get this counter attack. Guess what Brozovic decides to do. I love this game, but Jesus this was a heart breaking moment for me.
