    Football Manager Database Question

    Hi,

    First, a bit of context so please bear with me for a second -

    ​

    I am an economics student currently researching for my degree thesis, for which I am analyzing the effects of a specific tax law passed in Spain in 2005 on wages/migration effects in La Liga. Moreover, it is my theory that if this law (which reduced income taxes ONLY for foreign players in La Liga, i.e. Beckham/Bale) resulted in wage increases, this would attract more foreign, higher skilled players to La Liga, which would result in increased performance in the Europa and Champions League.

    You might be thinking, WTF does this have to do with Football Manager??

    ​

    1. I have been thoroughly unsuccessful in finding enough data to complete my dataset from online sources or organizations (I need the wages of every active La Liga player per season from 2017/18 until at least 1999/00 (but ideally 1996/97)

    ​

    1. As an FM fan myself, I am well aware of the depth of the database present in these games AND the fact that La Liga has been present in the game since around 1996, in Championship Manager.

    ​

    This may seem a little far fetched but I think that data sourced from FM would serve very well as a substitute for the actual (unobtainable) data. That being said, I have tried to locate these databases online with no luck.

    ​

    My question is - Do you have any suggestions of places I can look/resources I can use?

    Decided to do a San Marino save and got bored once id won Seria A, this time I've decided to do a regen only youth development save while trying to bring Cove Rangers from the Highland League in Scotland to the Premier League with the only rules being;

    No transfers incoming, no frees/loans etc.

    Only develop players using youth income

    No save scumming

    ​

    History and Initial Start

    ​

    Balmoral Stadium

    ​

    Cove Rangers (The Rangers) are Aberdeen's second largest club, though thats a bit of an overstatement because they have historically had almost no following within the city and have played lower league football since their inception. With the help of Aberdeen FC (helping to fund their upgraded stadium) and the reconstruction of the scottish league system (to include promotion into the national league setup), there is no a path forward to grow this club.

    First team is the strongest in the highland league, with Star Play Mitch Megginson once on the books at Premier League Aberdeen, and clearly playing at a level well below his attributes. The midfield is also a strength, with two of the three central midfielders also being ex-Dons.

    I decided to apply a very attacking 4-3-3 with high press to try and dominate the majority of teams in the league.

    Initial targets

    ​

    Real life promotion (Mitch Megginson)

    Win Promotion in first season via a playoff with top spot in Lowland League

    Do well enough in cup competitions to get a money maker tie to invest in youth development and counter any losses

    ​

    Long Term Targets

    Successive promotions to the championship. This is very achievable as the standard of Cove Rangers and L2 and L1 are very comparable. Championship is a very tough league and very difficult to gain promotion out of. Only two can get promoted (one automatic and 1 via playoff). The championship is also full of premier league standard teams (only three years ago Rangers, Hibs and Heart were in the league) Dundee United, Dunfirmline, Partick Thistle have all very recently played there.

    Promotion to Premiership within 2 years of playing in Championship. The only way ill ever become professional and earn serious income is to get into the premiership.

    Develop youth facilities to improve team and replace retirees (Cove Rangers are full of players on the wrong side of 35)
