Getting a little tired of the games predictability after 100s of hours

    Posted: 14 May 2019 03:38 PM PDT

There are clear patterns to football manager games that anybody can see if they have spent hundreds of hours on this game.

Win streaks, amazing form, victories against top teams, then losses to bottom of the table teams, losses characterised by shit strikers suddenly banging in hat tricks.

The mid season 5-6 week injuries for your star players.

The tedious cycle of players moaning about not starting, handing in a transfer request, leading to "manager falls out with such and such" headlines, only then a quiet withdrawal of the request about a week later.

The centre backs assisting opponent strikers by unnecessarily heading the ball into their path instead of controlling it

The wingers consistently smashing the ball into full backs legs instead of successfully crossing it

The "looks confused" body language response to a "push forward" shout whilst team tactics are set to Attacking

I really hope that FM 2020 brings about changes in code, not only new code but revisions to the older code. This is to the match engine and the actual meat of the simulation. Because right now it's just not as fun as it used to be

What features would you love to see in FM20?

    Posted: 14 May 2019 09:17 AM PDT

Personally, I'd love to see a chart showing the value of a player over a long period (like transfermarkt.com has it for example)

What's your reason for not signing over 25's?

    Posted: 14 May 2019 04:02 AM PDT

I've seen a lot of chat here about people not even willing to sign anyone over 25 unless they really have to. To me, it's one of my favorite things. Especially as you climb the leagues and you can pick up a declining player who's time at the top may be over but he can really help you progress as a club. I understand they may not have much resale which doesn't usually bother me as long as I dont have more than 10 players 28+ but they tend to be a lot cheaper.

Recently, my best performer after 2 seasons at Marseille is still Luis Gustavo although he's coming up to 34, he's still undroppable as I look to win the league for 3rd time in a row next year and make the final push in Europe.

    Next save

    Posted: 14 May 2019 07:01 PM PDT

Anyone have any good ideas for my next save? I just did a career with United and found it too easy and wanted something a more challenging but also isn't going to require 100s of hours, thanks :)

Stones was my top target in the winter window, when City wouldn't sell. I got him on a swap deal in the summer. I can still do this.
