This has to be my most painful experience on FM to date...

I bought a Brazilian who's 24 years old and should instantly be the best player in our league when he arrives. The problem? He's had 47 injuries and counting. I couldn't fit all of them on the screen at once.

They matched Chelsea (Mourinho)'s record of 15 goals conceded and City's record of 100 points, and 6 of the 15 goals were conceded in May after the title was well decided. Other highlights include Bournemouth and Newcastle both breaking the record for fewest points while avoiding relegation (record IRL is 34)

    Big clubs falling apart

    Posted: 26 May 2019 01:36 PM PDT

I was wondering if the gigantic clubs ever fall apart? I know they do very late on after watching a few of those 100 years later experiment but does it ever happen within a 10 year time span?

I started coaching Bordeaux and that first season PSG lost the league to OM. Then next season they lost it to Lyon and failed to win a single trophy that season. Halfway through the next season I took over Lyon and manage to win the league and all the domestic cups and they failed to make it out the group stages in the champions league. Next season they win the equivalent of the league cup in England but that's it and I ended up winning everything else in France and even making it to the semis of the champions league and they were knocked out in the first round.

With all that said I did notice their reputation dropped half a star although they are still spending stupid money and able to attract top talent even with major disappointments. Last season they almost didn't finish top 3 because Neymar was injured half the season but their new signing arp carried the team to 3rd himself. Although they still managed to bring in huge names this season again. I'm wanting to keep them down but I'm nervous soon they will start catching up with my Lyon team again because I'm starting to have to sell top players to avoid making losses and they keep having a net spend Of over 250 mil a season. Will their investors end up ever giving up on them or will they ever fail to attract top talent with these repeated failures? Or will that not happen until this keeps happening much longer? I never played a long term save like this and I'm planning to go very long so I'm curious.

    So I started a non-league to legend.

    Posted: 26 May 2019 08:59 AM PDT

And damn has it made Football Manager fun for me again.

I have skipped the past few football managers as I kinda went off it, but after watching a few YouTube's and talking to my bud who is an avid FM player I got back into it.

First I played as HSV but after getting promoted back to Bundesliga 1 I got kinda bored.

So I started a Non-League to Legend like the fella Lollugo on YouTube.

I selected Queens Park in league 2 in Scotland as they are the closest geographical team to my home town that are also at the lowest level with having the lowest qualifications for myself.

With this save there is also an extra challenge because Queens Park are an amateur side that in the club ethos cannot become semi or professional.

So from the beginning I am frantically trying to fill gaps in my preferred, possession/attacking formation that I want to play because, why the hell not. But luckily they were recently relegated so they have some sweet talent.

I recently just finished my first season as a non-league to legend, and in total it was a success as I finish first (barely) got decimated in cups, went on numerous loosing spells. Had to watch countless games of seeing their keeper punt the ball over my defence onto the foot of their striker to go 4-0 which my defenders appeared to just sit and watch it happen.

But the challenge was amazing, albeit infuriating. Anyone in this league can beat anyone. You may be first vs the last team in the league but they may win 3-0 easily, then the fact that any of my players that went on a good run in form, got signed by semi pro teams tallying to almost 30 players leaving the side in total throughout the year and constantly having to bring in talent that was a risk to sign as I never had time to fully scout them, basically I had a revolving door come transfer time with only a few staying as I constantly gave them game time.

I just finished my first season successfully so i decided to apply for a few jobs, gauging where I could go, never succeeded in any English jobs that I applied for to the equivalence of league 1 in Scotland, but my application to Forfar was accepted which I took. Forfar being already in league one are a semi-pro team that haven't been promoted to the championship in forever, so I felt it was a great step forward from Queens. I have felt pretty terrible as I have signed 3 players from Queens, a backup goalkeeper, striker and a promising midfielder who always turned up In the big games, whilst getting some key loans for some key positions, however if I never took them, other teams would have.

It's such a good role playing way to play FM that ads a great sense of realism that simply taking control of a huge team doesn't have and definitely sparked my love for the game again.

    Would highly recommend.

Taking Cadbury Athletic to the Premier League may be a bit more of a challenge than I bargained for
