    Update: AC Milan squad purge for financial security

    Yesterday I posted about an upcoming purge of the AC Milan squad I inherited in 2034/35.

    To recap, the squad were 16th in the league with 10 games to go, were £150m in debt, and the squad was awful besides a few players. I wanted to be completely revamp the squad while also turning the club's financial situation around - all in a single transfer window. Oh, and I only had access to 15% of the transfer revenue (later upgraded to 30%).

    Anyway, here I am, the day of the transfer window and I can report that I have pretty a whole new squad of youngsters, and my financial situation is much improved. Currently we have a budget of £130m and are making repayments on the loan debt of £150m. Obviously we're still not quite there financially, but in a much better position.

    I made a few mistakes - most notably buying too many foreign players, so I now can't register some of them (stupid Serie A foreign player limits). But I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out.

    I'll post an update before the next transfer window to report the progress of the team over the season.

    So 35 year old Messi wants to come play his final year with CR7. Aside from the financial implications ($35mil salary for the two of them) do you think it's kinda exploiting a flaw in the game that is somehow letting him leave Barca when it seems pretty clear he won't ever do something like that IRL?
