How OCD affects me playing Football Manager
I just learned that you can see a player's development on an age basis. Is this common knowledge?
Apparently there is no unlockable achievement for this, still pretty happy though :)

Please use this thread as a place to ask questions that are specific to your save, such as:

"Why is my tactic not working?"
"What role should I play this player in?"
"I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

If you are asking for tactical help/advice, please post an image of your formation and what insutructions/roles you have set.

As a rule of thumb, if you ask a question, answer a question. This is what keeps this thread alive and useful.

How OCD affects me playing Football Manager

I made a post similar to this in r/fifa and I've commented in 'Free Talk Fridays' on r/soccer and it seemed to help a lot of people with similar problems to mine and, of course, it's always good to raise awareness of a, at times, misunderstood mental illness.

My OCD isn't as bad as it used to be but it is still a problem from time to time and it still affects me when I'm playing FM

So first I have the problem of loading up the computer. If I don't press the on switch 'right', I have to restart the computer. I also have to restart it if I think of something which to me is bad in my head while it's loading, so I have to put all my concentration into thinking about something else.

Then I have a similar problem, clicking on the game to start it up. Again, if I don't do it 'right' or if I think of something bad while it's loading, I have to quit it and do it again.

In game is hard as well. I can't change any of the layout as otherwise 'it makes the game wrong', even by accident. I can't use any custom set piece tactics, otherwise it makes the game 'too easy' (I hate games being too easy 😂). During a match, I can't

Pause it
Have sound on

As otherwise it makes it 'too easy'. I once had a very good Basel career in which I accidentally paused a game and I very nearly stopped doing it because I felt so bad.

I feel like I don't have the energy required right now to play FM due to all the 'barriers' I have to overcome just to get onto the game. I bought FM 19 and Christmas and have only played it twice. FM is my favourite game along with FIFA and it makes me annoyed that I feel it would take too much effort to even start the game up.
