I sold Son Hueng-min to Juventus after he was complaining about wanting a new challenge. Juve signs him to a huge new contract and put him on loan for some reason, so I bring him back to Tottenham with no complaints

Made it to present day in FM12. Is there any player's stats would you like to see in this alternate reality?

I just started playing Football Manager, decided to make a Yugoslavia FC of just players from countries of the former Yugoslavian countries as I'm from Montenegro and always wondered what kind of football team we'd have if we never split I put here the lineup on FM, the three kits I made and a badge

    Kudos to football manager

I've always felt like the dressing room atmosphere/manager support features were overpowered in FM. Literally the slightest dip into the red and your team falls apart.

But watching the premier league this season has made me change my mind. Man United in particular clearly show how important those things are to a good team.

So I will publicly acknowledge the FM team did a good job here.

Hello FM Community! I'm new to FM, starting a new save. Come along for my journey!

Hello FM Community! I'm new to FM, starting a new save. Come along for my journey!

    Hello FM Community!

    My name is Rob.

This is not only my first ever post in this community, but it is also my first post on Reddit from my new account!

That said, I'm here because this is the first year I've ever played Football Manager, and I'd like to involve y'all in my journey....

(tl;dr: I'm new to FM, starting a Journeyman save, will be posting here as I go, save rules/setup/character profile)

For a little background, I am from the US, have been in the service industry my whole working life, with a short spell in the professional world. But no matter what I've done outside, inside I've been an extremely long time player of... that other game (almost exclusively on career mode). But, as I'm sure you've heard before, I always wanted a little more from that game, and FM is exactly what I was looking for that whole time.

So, this year I bought FM 22 and jumped into it. So far I've done a save with Curzon Ashton to test out what it's like to go from the English lower leagues to the Premier League. Some save scumming later I made it up in 5 seasons pretty easily, but that was just my test run.

For my next save, I'm going to stick to the spirit of the game and do absolutely no save scumming. My idea is to do a Journeyman type save where I start unemployed with no licenses, and then see what happens from there.

My plan is to post my progress here as I go, to tell the story being told in the game, to ask for advice, and to become an FM master with your help!

That said, here is the setup I've gone with for this save.

    Journeyman Save Setup

Basically I'm starting out with the lowest English-speaking leagues available and the rest of the Euro Top 5 as playable, with other leagues around the world loaded for flavor/simulation depth. I do want to make MLS playable in the future because IRL I'm a Galaxy fan and would like to manage there in this save, but I'm playing on a potato (that I built myself, tyvm) so I'll have to add it in later as I progress past the lowest leagues.

My goal is for my first job to be in England, and if I can't get one there my order of priority will be Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

To add a little flavor to the save I'll start at the Irish January 2022 start date, and begin my job search there.

As for realism, IRL I played up to the level of college, so I've given my game character semi-pro stats.

    Character Profile

Also, I will approach job searching/offers as I would IRL, or what I would think I would do in that situation, and I will only use player and staff knowledge generated by the club so no player/staff search screens (think lollujo Non-League to Legend type rules).

In addition I will stick to the club's vision as closely as possible at all times, so if they want defensive play, we will play defensively. If they want young players we'll sign young players. If I make promises I have to do everything I can to keep them. And so on.

Finally, I'll stick to the spirit of the game where ever possible, so absolutely no save scums, no cheesing trialists over the limit of 30 and the like. I figure this will be a great way to actually learn the game and see if an old dog can in fact learn new tricks.

    So, yeah. Hello, Reddit!

See y'all tomorrow with the results of my job search!

Is my savefile just weird or are ManU just paying twice the amount of scouts allowed?
