    I've just finished my 14th season with Mannheim and our 3rd in the Bundesliga. For all those years I've basically used the same tactic with just minor tweaks. It's a 5-3-2 with either a holding Anchor in front the back three or an attacking mid depending on the fixture. We press rather low but with a high line, so basicslly tyring to force the opposition into a small space around half line.

    Obviously it is doing its job, otherwise I wouldn't have used it for 14 years. It offers something different than what I usually play with and is fun to watch. It is good defensively while not being too defensive. Attacking wise it really relies on a good striker but I usually have one of those. The wingbacks are also important with their crosses of course. Honestly in all those years I had maybe one elite guy at that position and I am gonna lose him this summer because of bigger clubs.

    Anyways although it took us 11 years to finally get to the Bundesliga, in our first three seasons we finished 5th, 7th and 5th again. So European football in all three years. Massive. Even reached the Conference League final.

    So the tactic clearly allows us to perform and maybe even overperform. But recently during the second half of the season I feel like we reached a ceiling. Like not much more is achievable with that setup. Obviously if we still can get much better players which would improve us a lot, but in some games I just get the feeling we aren't creating enough. I think a system with wingers would give us more attacking threat.

    Another issue is that some roles tend to underperform while others get too good ratings. For example the middle man in the 3ATB averages 6.8 while the two outside consistently get above 7. There even is kinda a bug where two different RCBs get player of the season year after year even though others were better. It just favours them for some reason. The wingbacks also either have really good or really bad games. Really annoying to rarely ever see a 6.8 or 6.9 rating for them.

    So I thought about switching to a 433, because it would suit us well. I am confident of creating a tactic that works as well or even better as the other. And overall the ratings would be more consistent from my experience.

    One issue is that I have a club legend in the making who currently plays as a False 9 and would ideally play as a Raumdeuter in a 433. He basically is a low budget Thomas Müller. Not the greatest attributes but somehow always scores or assists. Played in 3. Liga, 2. Bundesliga and now Bundesliga. Always gets his share of G/A. Love him.

    However a Raumdeuter is extremely inconsistent. I fear that role would absolutely destroy his average rating. So I don't really know what I should do.

    Well this is my dilemma. There are pros and cons for both and I am really unsure what to do next season. I basically just wrote this down to collect my thoughts a bit but also get your opinions. Do you usually stay with your tactic or do you like to switch things up?

    I'm playing 21 and I needed a RB as my started got injured for 6 months and that too just two days before the transfer window closed. So I signed Passlack as he was on the transfer list and was available for cheap. So I went for him and to keep the playing time to squad player, he wanted the #18 number shirt. So I promised and got him. When it was time to assign the numbers, I chose the auto option and thought he would get his number as it has happened before for me. But he didn't. So he came to me saying I broke the promise so I said I'd give him his number the next time. But the time limit was like almost a month earlier than when numbers are assigned. Now he's wants to leave and he's also a very influential player and more than half the squad including all the leaders have sided with him. FML
