It's not an FM meme, but I'm proud and wanted to share. Today I've released the first version of my two division, 32 team, 'realistic' A-League database for FM21, that adds a number of historic and created clubs to the existing 12 team, one tier Aussie league.

7 seasons in after I started in the Slovak 4th tier and I've finally won my first major trophy (national cup). I know it's not much, but I haven't been this happy for a trophy in a long time. Especially after winning the final after penalties against the team I hadn't beaten in the last 5 games.

Weirdly Ecstatic About My Best Player Tearing His Hamstring

My best guy is 22 and, though he's been a starter since 19, he's having his best season. Manchester United is sending its coach to our games, talking in the media about a $100M offer, and generally unsettling ME, as well as him. Early November Champions League Group match, and he tears his hamstring, out for 2-3 months.

And I'm cheering. Because that should take him out of the second transfer window and, clear as I can tell, the big teams don't bid on my players who will be seriously injured through the transfer window. Even if they do, it'll be a low ball I'm guessing, and I bet I can convince him that I can't sell him until I receive a fair offer.

MEANWHILE, the injury, while bad, should still have him back on the pitch by February, in time for the knock out round (which I qualified for, with two games to go, in the match where he got hurt... after he chipped in a free kick because he's my best guy). If we somehow get past the knock out, he'll definitely be fully fit and raring to go for the quarters, and even if we don't, I should have him for the end of season title push.

Really couldn't be happier by this turn of events. Feel like I bought myself and extra half year with him, maybe more if he doesn't immediately bounce back to the *world beater* form he was in before he got hurt. But I have confidence he'll get it back eventually. He's only 22 with good determination, and he's more of a skill player than an explosive athlete, so even if he loses a step forever, he should still be my best player. *My* best player, not Man U's 8th best outfielder.

This game makes you think weird thoughts.
