    Please use this thread as a place to ask questions that are specific to your save, such as:

    • "Why is my tactic not working?"

    • "What role should I play this player in?"

    • "I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

    If you are asking for tactical help/advice, please post an image of your formation and what insutructions/roles you have set.

    As a rule of thumb, if you ask a question, answer a question. This is what keeps this thread alive and useful.

    I always see lots of discussion on DoFs and haven't been a big user of one myself, but this suddenly happened to me today..

    I'm managing Crystal Palace and am currently in the 2022/2023 season. I had Ethan Ampadu (22 yo, still at Chelsea) shortlisted and tried to get him before, but he was way too expensive. He was interested in a move though, as he isn't a starter (although playing over 50% of Chelsea matches) and I'm currently playing Champions League.

    Although I generally search & buy my own players, I've allowed my DoF to make offers for (first team) players: who knows whether he finds me a gem right? For all else, I maintain control over all the contract negotiations and confirmations even of the players that he bids on, so I maintain full control over who and what actually comes in.

    Out of the blue he makes a €40 million offer on Ampadu (still shortlisted), 28m direct and 12m in future terms and to my own surprise it's accepted. I save my game and go quickly back to a save right before his bid to see what would happen if I make an offer myself, as I had Chelsea asking far over €100 million whenever I tried. So I went back and guess what, the best deal I can get myself for him is €117 million, a difference of €77 million.

    I've never experienced such a difference (and to be fair, barely ever tested it). I wasn't a fan of DoFs, but this experiences makes me think. My DoF is Eugene Krasnikov with Negotation skills 18, Judging ability & potential both at 20.

    For a second there, I though my dof worked a miracle by bringing in Tammy Abraham to our non-league club. But, I was sadly mistaken!
