- A good ass man is always hard to find
- Me and my homies hate PSG
- This is why I love this game
- Kosovo won the 2021 Euros on my save.
- I can sleep well tonight
- It took 12 years but I have finally made it out of the group stage of the champions league with Larne.
- Alt+F4
- Ladies and gentlement, Sean Dyche!
- Just retired in 2037 after playing my longest save ever. Quite emotional to be leaving behind my regens. On to FM21!
- "If you're good enough, you're old enough" - Sir Matt Busby.
- A particular wholesome story, signed a useless ex-player on a free who bailed me out at Everton during an injury crisis. Managed to kickstart his career abroad.
- Can this game end please.
- From National League to National Team: What happens when the England squad is entirely made up of non-league players? - Part 2.
- Assman is at it again... Still.
- My name is Pedro Neto and I am the fastest man alive. Running 37.5 marathons a game
- Poor Linfield. Also ‘nice’ to note, it was the final qualifying round for the EL, something they wouldve entered for the first time in their history
- This winger I got for £6mil. Six matches, 10 goals, three assists, 2 POTM and an average rating of 8.1. 4 stars already and has 19 determination. Absolute beast, I really recommend him.
- Being given a transfer budget has literally never been so stressful.
- Doubt
- Still on FM 19, first time I’ve had a ‘Rival’, anyone else had one and who was it?...
- Should I sign him on a free? I already have a world class striker

Posted: 21 Nov 2020 01:00 PM PST Link to Part 1 is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/jwoibc/from_national_league_to_national_team_what/ As we prepare for our fixture against the Czech Republic, the U21s beat Slovakia 3-1, with Eddie Nketiah once again netting a brace. The U20s prevail 2-0 against Germany, while the U19s stroll to a 4-0 victory against Serbia. Only two changes is made to the team as we face the Czechs: Alex Penny replaces Daniel Boateng at right-back, with Louis John taking Ryan Johnson's spot at left-back. Once again, the match is a sell-out, and it makes for some impressive atmosphere. About 81,000 England supporters cheer us on, with the Czech supporters numbering about 9,000. I wonder who will be happier by the end of the game, and resolve that I will try not to cause a riot by losing heavily. Now, I would like to show you the report of this match. I really would. Unfortunately, my laptop shut down while I was doing it, making me lose nearly all of my report. So I'll summarize: The Czech Republic won 3-0, we didn't play well, Joel Dixon made some good saves despite conceding three goals, and Aaron Jarvis played pretty well off the bench. That's it. Now our focus turns to our next two games, a qualifier against Kosovo and a friendly against Mexico. For those two games, I make just two changes. Josh Umerah hasn't been playing well lately, so he's replaced by Notts County striker Alex Nicholls. Greg Olley also drops out due to injury - Sutton United midfielder Craig Eastmond is called up in his place. The media response is priceless. Once again, they call all my players "surprise inclusions" and note that's there's no place for literally every other decent English player. Alex Nicholls seems to have justified selection as he scores in his next game for Notts County. That's what we need in the England team - goals! Now, time for our junior round-up! The U21s thrash Armenia 4-0, with goals from Mason Mount, Phil Foden, and Reiss Nelson (2). The U20s do the same to Poland, while the U19s beat Holland 3-0. They're doing much better than us, it's fair to say. But all that matters is match day, against Kosovo. Then, said match day arrives! We're playing away for the first time! The lineup is: McDonnell, Penny, Boateng, Hogan, Johnson, Eastmond, Chislett, Beautyman, Nicholls, Mandeville, Jarvis. Kosovo dominate the first half, with nine shots to our two. It's a wonder they haven't scored yet. The second half is pretty much the same as the first. Kosovo go close several times, and have a goal ruled out for offside with less than 15 minutes remaining in the match. Then, five minutes later, they break forward. Florent Hadergjonaj cuts in from the wing and crosses for Vedat Muriqi to nod home. I put my head in my hands - we're losing to Kosovo. Kosovo! How did this happen? It can't be because I picked a team of non-league players, can it? No, of course not! In desperation, I bring on Marc Richards to replace Aaron Jarvis, but instead of us getting a goal back, Kosovo score again. Joe McDonnell, our goalie, clears the ball straight to Milot Rashica, and he crosses in towards Muriqi, who taps the ball in. It's now 2-0 to Kosovo, and the England fans are baying for my blood. I even wonder if the FA will sack me. Muriqi has a chance to get a hat-trick in injury time, but he heads over from a free kick. The final whistle cannot come quickly enough. Kosovo are jubilant, England despair. Even Harry Beautyman confesses to the media that he's been humiliated. It's a low point for us. The next game is a friendly against Mexico. Normally, this would be a chance to experiment, but if I experiment any more I will lose heavily. In the meantime, the U19s enjoy a 4-0 victory over Norway, Phil Foden scores a brace for the U21s to see off Andorra, along with a goal from Mason Mount, and Rhian Brewster is amongst the goal scorers in a 2-0 win over Holland. We make four changes to the team: Liam O'Brien comes in as the goalkeeper, Jack Holland and Ben Goodliffe are our new centre-back pairing, Tyler Brownsword is drafted in as a defensive midfielder, and Chris Henderson comes in on the wing. Despite Mexico being the designated home team, the game is actually taking place in the United States, at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Of course, the United States beat England 2-1 in the 1950 World Cup, in one of the biggest footballing shocks of all time. The omens do not look good. They get even worse when Raul Jimenez taps in from a 12th-minute corner, after a goal-mouth scramble. Mexico are all over us: they've had 11 shots in 14 minutes. Not to mention the fact that Jimenez scores again, from a header in the 17th minutes after being set up by a cross from Jorge Sanchez. We're going to get thrashed, I suspect. In the 37th minute, Mexico win a penalty - Henderson shoving Hector Herrera in the box. Jimenez steps up and tucks it into the bottom corner for his hat-trick. The half-time whistle blows ten minutes later. The stats make for grim reading - Mexico have 24 shots (10 on target) to our one shot (off target). The score says 3-0, but it could have been five or six. A few minutes into the second half, Jimenez has a chance for a "quadruple-trick" but he pulls the shot wide of goal. I make a raft of substitutions, hoping to stem the Mexican tide and grab a goal back. With fourteen minutes remaining, Mexico win a free-kick on the wing. The ball is swung into the box, and Jimenez crashes a header against the bar, only for Pineda to nod home instead. It's 4-0 and England fans are streaming out of the stadium. I order the players to get forward and try to nick a consolation goal. It's a hectic final few minutes. Aaron Jarvis hits the bar with six minutes to go, Robbie Tinkler clears the ball off the line to prevent a fifth goal, sub keeper Joel Dixon (the one player that has performed semi-decently) makes a few good saves, and Hector Herrera has a fifth Mexican goal ruled out for offside. In the last thirty seconds, Jimenez rubs salt in our wounds by scoring again from a header, with Jorge Sanchez providing a good cross (despite being injured). Jimenez has had a great game, by all standards (four goals, one assist) but it's been humiliating for us. Part Three will involve us trying to pick ourselves up in qualifiers against Bulgaria and Montenegro, as we battle for Euro 2020 qualification. Feel free to suggest players I should pick down in the comments, and I'd like to thank everyone who's supported me - it means a lot. I'll publish the next part as soon as I can!
