My proudest FM20 achievement! Taking Serie C team to a European final. Been in Top 4 of Serie A all the seasons I’ve been there with my best finish of 2nd.

So basically, i have little knowledge of football, both in game and out of game. Start game in March, apply for all open jobs and let's see what happens.

I get interviews with a few English 10th level clubs. Can feel them laughing at me on the way out of the room. On the 6th interview, with Atherton (a low tier level 10 club,) they ask me a lot of questions. They have almost no resources, poor youth facilities, most of their players moonlight at Ikea, and for some reason they have a 50,000 payroll budget. I'd like to think that that budget influences my decision. Truth is, I'm not sure I will get another option. I kiss up hard.

For some reason, they offer me a job. My mind is blown why they would actually hire me. I wouldn't hire me. I google Atherton. I realize why they have hired me. Apparently they entire staff just got canned for racism in real life. Choose to adopt that scenario here in my fantasy world. Organizational goal, do not be a racist asshole!

One of the assistant coaches introduces me to the team. Apparently he is a player coach. Hey I have some passible players! Guy informs me that all of the halfway attractive players are leaving.

    "But you're staying, right?"

"You bet your Yankee ass, I am. I'm raking in 38,000 a year!"

Now that $50,000 payroll doesn't look so great. While we are talking the goalkeeper leaves the box as his U-Haul pulls up. Literally the only player I am interested in is waving goodbye. The assistant coach turns to tell me,

"the really terrible thing is that replacing a Goalie with even moderate skills will cost you 5-7 thousand. The Board will not let you sign a player for for more than 3.8 thousand under any circumstance."

    "But you are making $38,000!!!"

    "Yep!"

About that time I trip on a clump of rock hard soil on my pitch. "Any chance we could get this renovated?" I ask Mr. Player Coach/Moneybags.

    "Mate, that IS the renovation!"

I think I am going to like this game!

    Injuries are getting ridiculous

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:09 PM PDT

I've never played FM before and I got it for free (FM20) a couple weeks ago through the Epic game store. Then decided to install it and give it a go cause why not? And well I'm addicted lol. The game is so much fun and you really get into your team and all the stuff you can do. My first team was Ajax and I've played 2 seasons with them already and it's been going pretty well. I get bored pretty easily so yesterday I decided to start a new career with Manchester Utd. and bring them back to their former glory.

It was pretty cool, was feeling fresh having new players, I even got a couple signings that made the team look pretty fantastic and then the injuries started to stack. I'm just in the 3rd Premier League game and I already have 8 injured players, what the actual fuck. It's not about training or match load. The training load is on light and we're playing 1 match a week at this point so what is even going on? We just started the season and I already have like 3-4 key players injured and they'll be out for like a month/ 6-7 weeks.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Can I hire a new medical team or something? Cause apparently they all suck. This didn't happen to me on my seasons with Ajax. In the 2 seasons I got like 3 important injuries and there was a major 7 months one, but other than that there was a 1-2 weeks here and there but not at this insane rate. Am I just having bad luck? I just started playing the actual regular season and almost half of my team is out of commission.

I even had to say fuck it and load my save cause in 1 week, 3 of my main guys got 2, 5 and 8 months injuries and we didn't even play a single match. I don't like doing this but it was so outrageous that I just said fuck this shit and load the save.

Do PPMs override tactical role instructions? E.g. If a role has Get Further Forward disabled, but player has a PPM to Get In Opposition Area or Get Forward Whenever Possible?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 07:25 PM PDT

When hovering over a tactic and a player's role instructions the game will tell you when there is a conflict with a PPM, but I can't seem to tell whether the PPM overrides the the role instruction or not?

For example a Roaming Playmakers cannot be set to Get Further Forward. Probably because they are set to Roam From Position anyway, but if I give my player a PPM to Get Further Forward will he obey it?
