    Let’s Talk About the Editor.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 04:34 PM PDT

I've seen a lot of people getting hate for using the editor- and people who edit budgets or whatever deserve it- but let's talk about the wholesome (or nefarious) ways to use the editor.

My story is that my grandma liked to watch me play FM while she was doing chemo- so now thst she can't watch me play anymore, I edit her name onto my best player every year. It's the small stuff.

Let me know how you use the editor!

Bargain of the century- Best CB in the world for $10k

Bargain of the century- Best CB in the world for $10k

Named in the world team of the season now and has won champions league 4 times. Big game specialist getting MOM performances in knock out stages of cups and vs bigger teams. Could be a ball playing CB but usually have him deployed no-nonsense stopper/bully as we get far more clean sheets this way and ruined opposition striker's ratings.

Kalidou proved to be catalyst to my team of misfits in properly knocking PSG off their perch and dominating finals. Found him after scrolling through Senegalese leagues due to my budget constraints. Thought 9 determination would hamper him...not the case at all...must just be a relaxed dude.

My FM Leeds United career mode.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 01:09 PM PDT

I've always liked Leeds United as a club, and after getting Football Manager they were the first team I started a career mode with. After walking the Championship and narrowly surviving relegation, i began to rebuild Leeds United into powerhouses and trophies began pouring in, I built the club into giants. But after 4 seasons in the Premier League, we still were lacking the 2 biggest prizes. The Premier League and the Champions League. Our next season proved to be our best, winning a domestic treble which included pipping Manchester United to the Premier League by a point and us entering making our furthest Champions League run, getting to the quarters before being knocked out to Barcelona. Although our players were not very highly valued, we were grinding out wins with club heroes such as Michael Obafemi and Ryan Edmonson bagging 15+ goals each to fire us to the title. Things were looking up, but the next 2 seasons would see back to back semi final exits in the Champions league, first to a Porto side who (re managed by Jose Mourinho), and then to Barcelona, where Ansu Fati bagged a brace in extra time to break our hearts, and with former heroes Obafemi and Edmonson's goals beginning to dry up I was getting worried we would never get the Champions League trophy. Frustrated, i took a break from my leeds career mode for a couple months and worked on other career modes, and the people of Leeds were left to suffer. However after seeing them walk the Championship, i decided to come back and give it another try. The next season was a rebuild season, investing heavily in youth and clearing out the older stars.I ended up finishing 4th, but with a much younger and stronger team, and more importantly, with my best ever signing on Football Manager, someone who had just got himself 15+ goals and assists in the Premier League to carry us to a Champions League place, Gabriel Martinelli. Meanwhile, during my rebuild, Manchester United went from strength to strength, winning the league 3 times in a row and boasting a striker partnership that included Halaand, Greenwood and Pinamonti, all worth over 140 million. I knew that we wouldnt have the tools to be challenging for the league that season, so instead i put all my eggs into the Champions League basket, but of course FM shafted me and gave me a group with Barcelona, who had just won the competition three times in the last 4 years, Inter Milan, who would go on to win the domestic treble that year, and Zenit St Petersburg, who had 4 players worth over 80 million. Despite all my hard work for the club, the fans were growing impatient with the lack of big trophies we were winning and i knew that if i didn't get my hands on the holy grail this season, chances were that i would be sacked. Despite losing twice to Barcelona in the group, I ended up scraping second due to a 1-0 win against Zenit St Petersburg and Inter getting wiped 4-1 to Barcelona on the final day. Defensively we were outstanding, conceding only 3 goals in this group of death and in the league we had only conceded 13 from 21 games. Going forward was a big problem however, with none of our strikers truly cutting it. Things were looking bad, and they only got worse when I saw that we drew Real Madrid in the Round of 16. However, the players decided to turn up and defended brilliantly before catching Madrid on the counter, getting a 3-1 win at Elland Road before grinding out a 0-0 draw at the Bernabeau. This was a turning point in our season, as while we were still struggling to be consistent in the league, our strikers began to regain their form, and our star man Martinelli getting more goals then ever. In the quarter finals we faced Liverpool, and once again, we grinded out a 1-0 win at home before getting a shock 2-1 win at Anfield to send us through to the semis. We got a blessing in our semi final draw, getting a Valencia side who were 14th in La Liga and had gotten p*ss easy draws of Shaktar Donetsk in the round of 16 and Sevilla in the quarters. We ended up comfortably beating them 4-0 on aggregate to set up a final against a team who had broke our hearts before, Barcelona. I was ready, after sealing a Champions League place on the final day of the season I planned for the final. I knew that Barcelona were a better team on paper and in value, so i made sure to confuse the Blaugrana. During the season I had been using a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-4, but i had decided to use a Sean Dyche esque 4-4-2, with my wingers playing more defensively to keep the likes of Fati quiet , and box to box midfielders to create an attacking threat. The day before the final I got a notification, and opening it i found out that Barcelona's main keeper Allison had gotten injured, so in stepped a £5 million keeper called Rajkovic. The game started end to end, however we were succeeding in keeping Fati quiet and were creating chances up the other end, and just before half time Rajkovic played a terrible mis pass to let our young striker, Facundo Barros tap it in. After that, Barcelona never fully recovered, with Barros adding a second after firing past the keeper and Jamie Shackleton, our backup midfielder, came off the bench to nod in a header from a corner to finish off the game. My job was saved, and I finally got my hands on the Holy Grail.

After this I am going to upload a squad analysis, breaking down all the stats and the style of play I introduced, checking our club legends stats, talking about our best and worst signing and most importantly, allowing you to choose where we go next on this rebuild.
