    Alphabet Challenge - Season Two

Right so the alphabet challenge is back by popular demand and first i'd like to say I was overwhelmed by support for this series on my first post. Here are the rules for anyone who is unfamiliar

    Rules

    PREVIOUSLY

In part One we demolished American Samoa, romping to the title unbeaten however despite our glittering success I made it clear I was ready to move onto pastures new and I promised I'd meet you as the manager of a different club in this post, however that isn't entirely the case

    BEEGINNING OF SEASON 2

Immediately in season 2 I struggle to find a new job with very few attractive clubs freeing up their manager role so I had to stay at Pago Youth for a little while. It was then that I noticed how the Oceania Champions League (O-League), which we had qualified for by winning the title started a whole six months before our next league campaign began. Being in the O-League however brought many positives as we were now able to sign players based outside of American Samoa. This was news that really got my going and I made numerous signings of players just because they were from other nations. Samoan and Tongan internationals joined before I made something remarkable happen... A former PREMIER LEAGUE footballer had come to ply his trade in Pago Pago for his twilight years.

    Carlos Edwards

I was quite frankly flabbergasted, we had actually attracted a former Premier League player and 94 time international to join our club. Woodbridge Town all I can say is thank you.

    O-LEAGUE

In the O-League we received a draw which I would say was of medium difficulty, Cook Island minnows Titikaveka were clearly the weakest team but we also took on Tahitian outfit and AS Venus and former finalists Hawkes Bay United. We unsurpringly beat both Titikaveka and Venus, Titikaveka actually proving to be the harder opposition, we beat them 2-1 but AS Venus 4-0. Carlos Edawrds and co couldn't help us to even a draw at Hawkes Bay as we lost 2-1 but we were already through to a historic Quarter-Final,

    O-League Group

    MID-SEASON BREAK

After the group stage we were required to take a 2 month break which was odd but I managed to arrange a few friendlies against American Samoan temas, we won them all 6-1 (4 times), 4-0 and 11-0

    11 Goal Victory

If you look closely at the scorers for this game, at the bottom you will see a new name, and a familiar one if you know about Asian football. 100 time Thai international and former Bundesliga player Datsakorn Thonglao joine dup with squad, a very ambitious signing. In our last friendlie we took on our reserve side in a game which ruined us, top strikers MJ Danielson and Tapusoa both had to go off injured just 2 weeks before the clubs biggest ever game.

    O-LEAGUE CONTINUE

By the time our QF rolled around Danielson was not injured but unfit while Tapusoa was still out. against New Caledonian outfit AS Magenta we were up against it so I had to make a risky decision to start MJ Faoa Danielson, we struggled to get going all game but in the 49th minute Gwenael Poulawa headed a throw-in past his own keeper to give us a precious 1-0 lead. We held on and were into the semis. Wild scenes

    O-League QF

In the Semi final, Tapusoa was still out and MJ Danielson had aggravated his injury against Magenta so was still rather unfit but yet again he was a sacrifice I was willing to make. We played well but struggled to create until the 81st minute when a massive chance falls to MJ. He lashes a half-volley goal-bound but he was denied by a wonderful save. In extra time it was pros vs amateurs and we always had it tough. Martin Maybin bagged twice at the start of ET as the eventual winners narrowly knocked us out. I was disappointed but immensely proud, these boys deserved it all and I couldn't bring myself to criticise them. Had we had Tapusoa and MJ fully fit I reckon we'd have nicked it but we didn't so we lost.

    SV BRITANNIA!!!!!!

    SV Britannia

After 17 glorious months with Pago Youth, I finally mustered up the confidence to leave and I took over at Aruba's current tile holders (SV Britannia)

    PRE-SEASON

Having never managed in Aruba before I was slightly overwhelmed with everything but one thing I did know was that my squad could do with a good makeover and a makeover it got. National team superstars Owen Van Der Wijne and Theric Giel both join and instantly become our best two players. Giel was a very good player last season for Nacional, where he finished as the top assister

    THE CAMPAIGN

The league at first proved relatively easy to learn as it looked at face value the exact same as the American Samoa top flight, we were predicted to finish 4th, a decent position that gets us into the play-offs. The season started with a flyer, putting last season's runners up Nacional in deep trouble (they'd go onto to get relegated) after we smashed them 5-0

The teams in Aruba proved to be much easier than I first expected, 7 games in we hadn't kept a single clean sheet but we also hadn't dropped a single point. We took on RCA who the media expected to win the title (RCA are the biggest club in Aruba) and we easily beat them, Van Der Wijne amongst the scoring as per.

    Vs RCA

However not long after this I received my first domestic loss on this save, a 2-1 defeat to Dakota in the Aruban Cup. The league also began to stop being so easy though, despite winning many games 6-1 we were held in back to back encounters, 1-1 vs Nacional and 4-4 against Rooi Afo after coming back from 3-0 down. These draws meant that come the end of the regular season we finished one point shy of the record points total in Aruban football history.

    League Table

    THE PLAY-OFFS

The Play-Offs shocked me, unlike the knockout system we had in American Samoa I was greeted with a mini league of the top 4 teams from the regular season. Newly promoted side Juventud gave us a scare but we turned it around before hammering RCA home and away which meant that we hosted Dakota knowing that we were champions with a win

    CHAMPIONS!!!!

An easy victory was inevitable, we capped off a record-breaking season in style and ensured that we wouldn't have to manage for another year in Aruba.

    SEASON REVIEW

Owen Van Der Wijne was top scorer and my personal player of the year bagging 18 in 21 in a record-breaking haul.

    Van Der Wijne

And that is it, 2 down, 219 to go, Aruba and American Samoa were a breeze but in a few days you will find out if I can carry on this incredible, title winning spell. I hope this post was as enjoyable as the first and I hope no.3 will be just as enjoyable but until then, goodbye

Yesterday I posted a screenshot of the Championship top half being separated by 8 points after 36 games, this is the update after the season finished... Collapses from Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest prevented it being even tighter.

Why do the AI offer terms like this and get accepted, yet when I approached with a higher offer they countered and wanted £150m.
