Flat 4 4 2 appreciation day

I thought a good way to spend Sunday might be to spread the love for a good old flat 4 4 2, and it's many flavours.

How do you like to set one up ? Is there anything you really like about them?

I'll start. What I really love about a good 4 4 2 how many different pressing tactics you can create. My current one involves the front 2 pressing intensely, the middle 4 pressing as limited as possible and the back 4 as standard.

This means when I'm countered the midfield line just drops back instantly to create two banks of 4 infront of my goal (which is incredibly difficult to break through) whilst my strikers continue to try to win the ball before back a little higher up.

In addition, because I'm set up as a counter side, I'm set deep when I regain possession and the opposition have been drawn right into my half, meaning there's hardly anyone back to prevent a good counter attack.

Anyone got anything they could share ? Would love to just get a good discussion going between people !
