Imagine coming to training and there is your almost 100 years old coach yelling at you for making a bad pass.

In my current save Neymar's last game before retirement is in a World Cup semi-final loss to Germany. Poetic.

Can't we have a Daily Discussion type thread on this sub?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 05:35 AM PST

My biggest frustration with this sub is that there is no real room to just share a quick thing that's happened in your game or just ask a quick question about how others are going or doing things. You have to make a seperate post which gets buried. I also see plenty of people sharing achievements they're proud of but aren't that special to anyone else, thus really clogging up the overall content. Or the 10,000th I got FM'ed screenshot. Or the 10,000th FM newbie asking a pretty simple question.

It could all be much more contained in one thread where everyone can drop what's on their mind real quick. Now when I want to complain or share something and get anyone to see it I need to make a meme out of it. Which makes me sad because when I manage to do so I get good responses about what I can do about the issue, or similar stories.

If feel a Daily Discussion thread like r/soccer has could really make this sub more accesible and improve the rest of the content by being an option to go to for a huge amount of basic stuff people want or just want to share.

    Thoughts?

    I want a son

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 08:34 AM PST

I have been playing the FM series since 2008 and have over 10 K hours and have never gotten a child of mine to appear in a save. I've had regens from all over the world, obscure affiliates, even brothers appearing in my club, but never my own child.

I've even spent hundreds of times reloading the youth intake and still never saw him. I've been to clubs from bottom to top tier, all sorts of coach and youth setups. This is like my golden egg gleaming in the distance, one of the only rarest of the rare FM moments I never managed to experience.

I've had 4 stadiums named after me built. I've taken teams from Tier 6 English football to consecutive CL victories. I've seen all sorts of rare player injuries, talent develop from nowhere, weird match engine things, in-game events, like remember Diego Bunanotte on FM 10 would always get injured in the winter? It was because he was in a real life car crash and this was coded into the game.

Maybe the game is telling me I will only have daughters, who knows?
